Strengthens the Bonds of Love in Big Reunion
The eighth annual reunion of the
Pitsenbarger families was held at the same place as previous years in
F. M. Pitsenbarger's grove, three miles north of Versailles, Sunday,
September 3.
The day was an ideal one for the occasion and
the attendance was even larger than before. The forenoon was
spent in hand shaking and renewing old acquaintances and forming new
ones, and at the noon hour a most bountiful dinner was served to which
all did ample justice. After dinner a short program was rendered
consisting chiefly of singing and recitations, and addresses were made
by I. R. Pitsenbarger and Lon Tompson, which were very much enjoyed by
the crowd. Mr. Hiram Pitsenbarger sang a very beautiful song
entitled "You'll never miss your mother till she's gone,"
and I. R. Pitsenbarger sang a song of (Old Glory) that brought a smile
to the faces of the old soldiers.
Following the program was the Secretary's
report, election of officers and deciding the place and date for the
next reunion, viz: F. M. Pitsenbarger's grove on the first
Sunday in September 1912. The crowd was then dismissed by prayer
rendered by Mrs. H. H. Pitsenbarger and a song "God be with you
till we meet again," after which all returned to their respective
homes feeling that the day had been very pleasantly spent.

| Breach
will cost thousands |
January 7, 1909
A breach which will mean the loss of thousands of dollars worth of
business to the Dayton and Troy traction company has taken place
and Tuesday and Wednesday. The Western Ohio road transferred its
loads of freight to the Dayton, Covington and Piqua line at Piqua
instead of sending them on the D. and T. It is believed that the
sudden move by the Western Ohio was made in an effort to bring the
D. and T. to time and compel it to arrange its passenger car
schedules in a more satisfactory way as well as to secure other
concessions.

Sidney Daily News
January 7, 1934
An interesting find was made by Chet Graves this afternoon when he
uncovered an old bottle of Wagner's beer in the old canal bed
south of Water Street, while digging for the installation of the
new storm sewer. The bottle was full and had one of the old time
rubber stoppers which were in vogue so many years ago. It was made
by the John Wagner and Son Brewery in Sidney. According to Chief
of Police O'Leary, in whose possession the bottle has been placed,
it is all of thirty-five years old.
