John Pfirman
John Pfirman a resident of this city since 1884, died at the residence of his son-in-law, E. M. Steiber, Friday morning. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Pfirman was a shoemaker by trade. He had been in poor health for some time. Four sons, five daughters and eight grandchildren survive the deceased. The funeral was held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. from the residence of Mr. Steiber, 943 Dunbar street. The deceased was a member of Goshen lodge of Odd Fellows of Canal Dover.

Oliver Phillips
Oliver Phillips, 40, died early Sunday morning at the Stark County workhouse. The body has been removed to the Spiker parlors. Coroner T.C. McQuate investigating. [Monday, July 1, 1929; Repository (Canton, Ohio); Page: 8]


Mary Lula Oberlin Porter

Mrs. Lula Oberlin Porter, 75, formerly of Massillon and Tiffin, died Friday in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Marian Strait, of Columbus. In addition to Mrs. Strait, Mrs. Porter is survived by a sister, Mrs. Inez Luttrell of Winchester, Va., and a granddaughter, residing in Columbus. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Turner funeral home in Tiffin. Interment will be made in a Tiffin cemetery.
