LITTLE LIZZIE
Dear little Lizzie how we miss thee;We miss thy sweet faceWhich brought to our home so much of love and joy;We miss thy gental smile,Which brought a sunshine to our hearts we never felt before. How have we drank the light of thy dark eyes, And could we see thee die? Oh thy young heart was pure As thy dear face was fair! Now with the the other two, Thou art forever free
From pain and death,--aye, there, On that blest shore where all is love. Think, sorrowing ones, while tears are shed, How blessed are the early dead. M. A. H.
