| The Richwood Gazette Jan. 2, 1930 David Wurtsbaugh, of Richwood, who is an inmate of the Union county home, had all the toes on his left foot amputated at Marysville last week. Mr. Wurtsbaugh is 72 years old. He froze his foot on Thanksgiving day. Gangrene set in and amputation was the only means of saving the foot. Last winter the toes on his right foot were amputated when he froze them and is now toeless. ---------
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bevis gave a dinner Sunday, December 29, at their pleasant rural home. The following guests were present and enjoyed the bounteous dinner served at the noon hour; Edgar Hoffman and family, Guy Hoffman and family, Roy Hoffman and family, Edward Bomeli and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Guy and Onalis Holt, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carr, Richwood; Hazel and Dwight Holt, Prospect; Robert Hoffman, Green Camp. ------- Marriage Licenses Theodore Harrison, 25, mechanic, Richwood, and Lucille Snapp, 20, Richwood, Rev. C. C. Kennedy. Appointment Filed G. G. Bolenbaugh, A. D. Parish and D. E. Ogan, appraisers of the estate of Daniel E. Easterday, have filed their report. The estate is valued at $717.50. Appointed Guardian Leota B. Cheney has been appointed guardian of S. N. Robinson Divorce Petition Filed Christine Durban has filed a petition for divorce from Christian Durban. They were married May 27, 1927 in Marysville and have no children. She charges extreme cruelty, saying that he struck her and threatened to kill her. She also charges failure to provide. She asks for restoration of her maiden name, Christine Bugg. A. H. Kollefrath is her attorney. ------- Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Parish entertained the following relatives at a turkey dinner on Christmas day: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mulvaine and daughter, Betty Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Mulvaine, Marion; Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Spring, J. W. Parish and Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Sanders and son Gwynn. The turkey served for the dinner was sent by Mrs. C. C. Tarpning, of Gooding, Idaho, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parish. N. Robertson, administrator of the estate of Druzilla Carr, deceased, has been filed. It is balanced at $741.13 First Account Filed The first account of Louis B. McNeal, executor of the estate of Highaliner R. Van Houton, deceased, has been filed. The total amount chargeable was $10,181.85. The balance due the estate is $116.68. Guardian's Account The third partial account of Frank Connor, guardian of Marna C. Tway, has been filed. The amount chargeable is $956.72, and the balance due the ward is $241.12. Sixth Account Filed The sixth and final account of Elizabeth Blumenschein, guardian of Walter P. Blumenschein, has been filed. The account is balanced at $2065.02 Appointed Administrator Cora Lawson has been appointed as administrator of the estate of Sarah H. Lawson, deceased, under a bond of $2,000. To Sell Real Estate Karl Fawley, administrator of the estate of Ida Beal, has filed his petition to sell real estate. Mary M. Williams, is the defendant. Sentenced to Reformatory In the case of the state of Ohio vs. Mabel Lee, charged with intoxication, she pleaded guilty and was fined $100 and costs and sentenced to the reformatory until the fine and costs are paid. Released Under Parole In the case of the state of Ohio vs. Wm. Speakman, who was fined $100 for possessing liquor and was unable to pay has been released from the county jail under parole. He has promised to pay his fine in installments. Jury Disagrees The jury was unable to reach an agreement in the case of E. J. Morris vs. Hugh Pohlman. Spain Found Guilty In the case of the state of Ohio vs. Mack Spain, the jury found the defendant guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. -------- The Richwood Gazette Granted a Divorce Mrs. Bertha Lyons was granted a divorce from Charles Lyons, of Milford Center. The case was heard before judge E. W. Porter and was contested. The couple was married on April 17, 1902. The divorce was granted on the grounds of habitual drunkeness on the part of the defendant. The parties are to hold title jointly in certain real estate in Milford Center. The plainiff is given custody of the child Mary Annette Lyons and the defendant is to pay the county clerk $12 a month for the support of the child. The plainiff is entitled to the whole of the property in Milford Center, for alimony. She is to have all the household goods. The defendant receives a pension as a veteran of the Spanish American war and the judgement in no way affects this.
