Mrs. Orvis O'Hara
West Martinsburg: The death of Mrs. Orvis O'Hara, a former resident of this place, occurred at Stanleyville, Ohio, July 1st. Mrs. O'Hara had suffered severely from indigestion for the past four years; Wednesday of the week preceding her death she was taken with excruciating pains and peritonitis soon developed, her suffering was most intense until about ten hours before her death ensued during which period she was mercifully unconscious. The end came peacefully Tuesday morning at 1:15. Mrs. O'Hara was born in Jefferson county, N. Y.,February 18, 1840. The greater part of her life was passed in Lewis county, where she leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Her maiden name was Eunice Adaline Shepard, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos T. Shepard. One sister Mrs. John Porter lives at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and one Mrs. Charles E. Brown at West Martinsburg. The deceased was a consistent member of the Methodist church, a faithful wife, a loving mother and a loyal friend.
