Wayne County
Formed in 1808 and organized in January 4, 1812
Wayne County is located in northeastern Ohio.
Wayne County encompasses 556 square miles.

The county seat and largest city is Wooster.

The County was named in honor of General Anthony Wayne, the victor at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794.
Among the county's earliest residents were members of the Amish Christian religious group and its Amish community is now one of the largest in the United States.
