Caddo County
Caddo county, which includes most of the old Wichita-Caddo Indian reservation, is in the southwestern part of the state, being the second tier north from the Texas Panhandle boundary. Its total are is 1, 286 square miles, 80 per cent of which is arable farm land. The staple crops are cotton, corn, wheat, oats, alfalfa, kaffir corn and broom corn. Considerable attention is being given stock raising and stock feeding. The prinipal stream is the Washita river, which has numerous tributaries in the county. The populaton of the county is approximately 35,000. Anadarko is the county seat and largest town. Other towns of local importance are Apache, Cement, Fort Cobb, Hydro, Hinton, Bridgeport, Carnegie and Binger. -
