German-Owned Farms May Escheat To State
Interesting Question Arises in Caddo and Harper Counties as Result of War.

Special to the World.
Oklahoma City, Nov. 24.--Two valuable farm properties, one in Harper county worth $4,000, and the other in Caddo county, worth $6,000, may escheat to the state. Bother were owned by Germans, of whom no proven heirs have appeared.
Some claimants have applied in the Harper county case, but have not yet proven their claim to the estate, of which the owner died several years ago. The Caddo county case was that of August Simon, a successful farmer who is believed to have accumulated considerable wealth. He lived alone in the country and very little was known of him. One day his house burned with the contents and shortly afterward he died.
In both cases it is believed that relatives live in Germany. The question is raised as to weather these heirs of a country now at war with the United States would be entitled to the property. There are instances where property of foreigners escheated to the state because no heirs appeared within the prescribed time, but this was before the country was at war. -

OZARK TRAIL MEETING IS HELD AT ANADARKO
Object Was to Put Highway Through Caddo County in Condition.
Acceptable to the Association.

An Ozark Trail meeting was held at Anadarko yesterday afternoon for the purpose of devising ways and moans for completing: the Central Route highway through Caddo county. All the towns from Chickasha to Wellington, Texas, were represented. Mangum's representatives were Hearne and Singletary; Hobart's, O. B. Mothersead, Dr. Bonham, A. E. Deaver and Fines Gillespie. Chickasha had about four delegates, among whom was one of the County Commissioners for Grady county. Caddo county, of which Anadarko is the county seat, was likewise well represented, with One County Commissioner attendance
At the beginning of the meeting, the sentiment was not as harmonious as one might have desired, but the delegates were not long in reaching an amicable adjustment of all questions upon which there was a diversity of opinions.
The question as to which road through Caddo county should be worked has caused all the delay. At the meeting yesterday, however, they agreed to accept the one recommended by Col Harvey, or what is known as the Ridge Road. This is the one that runs on the south side of Anadarko straight east to Chickasha and is entirely out of the bottom.
They decided to work both roads, west from Anadarko. This is to begin next Tuesday morning.
The County Commissioner from Grady county and the one from Caddo signed an agreement to have these roads worked as soon as possible
The Newcastle bridge across the South Canadian is to be built as per agreement. Oklahoma county has appropriated $50,000 for this improvement, Grady $20,000 and Kiowa $5,000: And it is thought that the Federal Government will contribute enough to complete it. The representative of the Government who was present intimated that a steel bridge was not; feasible and that the Government would insist on concrete. He also intimated, however that the Government would pay the difference.
In order to hold the trail, it will be necessary for the people along the Central Route to see that the roads are put in an acceptable condition at an early date. Too much money and time have been spent on it to let it go by default. Hence, it is high time that work on the Newcastle bridge was under way.
