Norman Man Found Dead

(submitted by Susan West)

A 20-year-old Norman Man apparently committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his back yard this morning, police reported today.

The body of Bobby Don West was discovered about 7 a.m. at 515 E. Symmes St., Capt. Leon Sugg said.

Sugg said a relative, who had gone to the West's house to check on him this morning, found the man's body in the back yard after first discovering a note inside the residence.

"From all indications, Mr. West's death appears to be a suicide," Sugg said. "However, the body has been transported to the state Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy pending an official ruling."
