Patricia Ann (Pat) Gilliam
Patricia Ann (Pat), 75, of OKC died at home June 29, 2007.
Born in Minco, OK on May 21, 1932 to Lem and Dorsie Guthery.
Pat was very family oriented and loved to take long road
trips camping and sightseeing with her husband and two
children, and occasionally a neighbor or two. With Bob she
learned Morse code and became an amateur radio operator with
the call letter K5YVL. She later became quite involved with
a local bluegrass music club serving as the club
photographer. Pat retired from T.G.&Y. stores after many
years as office manager. Although a petite woman, she was a
tower of strength fighting valiantly against rheumatoid/osteo
arthritis and pulmonary fibrosis. Survived by husband of 58
years Robert (Bob) Gilliam; son Danny Gilliam; daughter
Sherri Hayes; brother Jim Guthery; sister Retha Calloway;
four grandsons, Frank and Jeff Gilliam, and Courtney and
Quinton Myers; and one great grandson Dekan Myers.
Preceded
in death by parents and brother Jerry R. Guthery. Funeral
service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007 in the chapel
at Crossroads Church, 8901 Shields Ave, OKC at 1:30 pm.
Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Minco, OK.
Visitation will be at Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton

Funeral for May Joslin White, 87, Chickasha,
will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 1987, in the
Chapel of Servier Funeral Home.
Mrs. White was Born Oct. 15, 1900, in
Hitchcock,
and died Dec. 2 1987, in
Chickasha.
She had lived in the Chickasha area most of
her live. Mrs. White had worked as a cook in different
restaurant in Chickasha. She last worked at David's Cafe.
She married Arthur White. He proceeded her in
death in 1966. Mrs. White was a member of the
Calvary Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by on son,
Charles Leon Joslin; two grandchildren, one great grandchild
and five brothers.

Funeral Service for Harmon E. Duncan, Route 2 Ninnekah,
will be held at
3:30 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Brown's Funeral
Home. Rev. Russell Long will officiate.
Mr. Duncan died today in his home north of
Ninnekah He was born Aug. 12 1908,
in Chickasha. He was a retired dairyman,
being in the dairy business and carpentry work most of his
life. Mr. Duncan was a World War II veteran, serving in the
Seabee
for three years. He was a member of the Methodist Church and
a Member of the Chickasha
Masonic Lodge No. 94.
Mr. Duncan married the former Miss Cathlene
Joslin in October 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Cathlene of the
home; one daughter Mrs. Debbie Evans,
Shawnee; one brother Raymond Duncan, Rosston,
Ark; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Phelps,
Austin, Texas.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery,
Masonic graveside rites will be conducted. All Masons are
ask to meet at the Masonic Lodge at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The body will lie in state at the
funeral home until 3 p.m. Saturday. The casket will
not be opened at the service. Memorials may be made to the
Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Funnel services for Arthur "A. W." Warren Joslin, 76 of
Chickasha, will be held Friday
November 28, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Ferguson
Funeral Home Chapel.
A. W.
Joslin was born June 28,1927, in Tabler, Oklahoma,
the son of Roy J. Joslin and Ruth Florence Bolander Joslin.
He died Monday,
November 24,
2003 in Chickasha.
A. W grew up in the Grady County area. After high school
graduation he joined the U. S. Army where he served from
1946 till 1952. After being honorably discharged from the
Army he attended and graduated from the
University of
Oklahoma. He married Louise S. Spencer on October 10,
1959. in Clewiston
Florida.
A. W. had previously owned and operated a service station
in LaBelle,
Florida. before returning to Chickasha
area in 1970. He had spent many of his years as an over the
road truck driver and retired from Road-Way in 1992. During
his years trucking, he won many awards because of his safe
driving record.
He was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church, the
American
Legion, Teamsters Local 886 and a member of the
Chickasha Democrat party.
A. W. was proceeded in death by both parents, his wife
Louise, of thirty-five years and eleven brothers and
sisters. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Bill
and Sharon Thomas of Chickasha, two granddaughters, Debbie
Thomas, of Chickasha and Katrina Jones of Elmore City; four
great-children Jessica Herrera, Nathan, Jonathan, and
Misty Jones; one brother and sister-
in-law, Earl and Jackie Joslin of Tuttle; two sisters and
brothers-in-law Billie Ruth and Jerry Cavin, of
Modesto, California. Glenna and J.S. Whinery, of
Oakdale, California; one sister- in- law Louise
Joslin of
Oakdale;
California; one brother-in-law, Hoot Scott of
Chickasha and many
nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Ninnekah
Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Funeral for Gloria Ellen Calhoun, 61,
Ninnekah, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29, 1992, in Epworth United Methodist Church.
Rev. John Derr, minister will be officiating. Assisting will
be Rev. Harold Jackson, associate pastor, and Ron Justice.
She was born Feb. 9 1931, in Tabler, the
daughter of Roy and Ruth Joslin, and died Tuesday, May 26,
1992 in
Oklahoma City.
Mrs.
Calhoun graduated from Middleburg High School and
from Draughon
Business School in Oklahoma City. She worked for the
Grady County OSU extension Center for 16 years as the 4-H
secretary. She was previously employed at the University of
Science and Arts of
Oklahoma
and at Southern Plains
Medical Center.
She and J. W. Calhoun were married in September, 1952, in New
Mexico.
Mrs. Calhoun was a member of Epworth
United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the
Farm Bureau.
Mrs. Calhoun was an active supporter of
church, civic and 4-H actives, including the recent Ninnekah
Centennial Celebration and serving on the board for Women's
Service and Family Resource Center.
Mrs. Calhoun was proceeded in death by
her parents, Roy and Ruth Joslin; two sisters , Julietta and
Helen; and four brothers, Randolph, Dale, and Jack Joslin,
and an infant brother.
Survivors include her husband J. W. Calhoun
of the home; one son and a daughter-in-law, Steve and Gina
Calhoun of Ninnekah; one daughter and son-in-law Kay and
Stanley Goodwin of Maysville, Mo.; three brothers A. W. of
Cement, Earl Joslin of Tuttle, Clyde Joslin of Waterford,
Calif; five sisters, Beatrice Ginn, Dwindalee Scott, both of
Chickasha, Cathlene Duncan of
Corpus Christi, Texas, Glenna Whinery of Oakdale,
Calif.; six grand children Katherine, Amy, and
Audrey Goodwin of
Maysville, Mo.
and Lauren, Clint, and Robert Calhoun of Ninnekah; and a
host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Interment will be in Ninnekah Cemetery
under the direction of Serviers Funeral Home.
The family request that memorial donations
be made to the Grady County 4-H for a project in her memory
or to Epworth United Methodist Church's Memorial Fund.

Viola E. “Burchfield” Arnold
Graveside services for Viola E. Arnold, 86, of Minco were held
Monday, June 26, 2006, 10 a.m. at the Hazel Dell Cemetery under
the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
Chaplin Bennie Mathews officiated.
Viola E. Arnold was born August 6, 1919 at Purcell to Adam
Francis and Rachel Mae (Carnes) Burchfield and died Wednesday,
June 21, 2006 at Chickasha.
She has lived in the Minco community since 1921.
She married Walter Eugene Arnold in February 1963 at Chicago,
Illinois and was a homemaker.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents: Adam and Rachel
Burchfield; Husband: Walter E. Arnold on Dec. 7, 1985; two
sisters: LaVerne Bush and Winnie Millword; four brothers: Claud,
Walter, Alfred, and Robert Burchfield.
She is survived by: One son and daughter-in-law: Herman and
Leona Ott of Minco; six grandchildren: Diana Reed, Terry Jean
Dollinger, Dale Allen Ott, Jennifer Meyers, Regina Gray and
Jesekah Austin; 15 great grandchildren: Christina Smiley,
Nicholas Reed, Tristan Dollinger, Lance Dollinger, Michael Ott,
Trevor Ott, Caitlin Meyers, Linda Mae Gray, Jalen Eugena Gray,
Charlie Gray, Christopher Price, Jayda Danielle, Kylie Lynn
Austin, Rebekah Austin, and Summer Ann Austin; four great great
grandchildren: Michelle Smiley, Rachel Smiley, Jade Reed, and
Tyler Reed.

Roy Don Gan and
Johnathan Ray Gan
Funeral services for Roy Don Gan, 49 and Johnathan Ray Gan, 25
father and son, both of Minco were held on Saturday, February
24, 2007, 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Minco with Rev.
David Mercer of Minco United Methodist Church officiating.
Roy was born March 22, 1957 at Waynesville, Missouri to Roy
Glenn Gan and Shirley Ann (Bartlett) Gan. Roy and Johnathan died
Monday, February 19, 2007 in a tragic car accident, other son
David still in ICU Presbyterian Hospital in OKC.
Roy had lived in the Minco-Cogar communities since 1993 coming
from Choctaw. Roy married La Donna (McLaughlin) on May 28, 1976
at Glencoe, Oklahoma. Both Roy and Johnathan worked in concrete
construction together, along with David, son in hospital.
Johnathan was born on April 10, 1981 at Oklahoma City to Roy Dan
and La Donna Gan.
Survivors include: Wife and mother La Donna Gan of the home in
Minco; two sons and brothers: David of the home in Minco and
Michael and Tonya Gan of Minco; one daughter and sister:
Michelle Gan of the home in Minco; three grandchildren and
nieces and nephew: Blake Michael Gan, Ashley Dawn Gan and
Mercedes Castro.
Roy’s siblings: two brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl and Angela
Gan of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Steven and Tammy Gan of
Louisiana; six sisters and three brothers-in-law: Rose Ann and
Roger Reed of Conway, Ark., Jettie Gan and Teresa Gan both of
Branson, Missouri, Glenda Jean Gan of Lebanon, Missouri, Nancy
and L. D. Asbil of Glencoe, OK, Elizabeth and Bobbie Roberson of
Stillwell, OK.

Grace
“Starkey” Rowe
Services for Grace (Starkey) Rowe, 88, of Pocasset were held on
Friday, March 23, 2007, 2 pm at the Southern Oaks Church of
Christ at 3320 S. 16th St. Chickasha, OK with Jim Sheerer and
Jim Ross officiating. Burial followed at the Friendship Cemetery
SW Minco, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of
Minco.
Grace was born May 23, 1918 at Oklahoma City to J. J. and
Beatrice (Strever) Starkey. She passed away on Tuesday, March
20th at her home in Pocasset. Graces family moved to Minco in
1930 from Oklahoma City and she graduated from Minco High School
in 1935. She went on to complete her Teachers Certification from
the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and Central State
University in Edmond and taught for 2-1/2 years at the Hazel
Dell School at Minco.
On February 9, 1940 Grace married Dale Rowe at Chickasha; they
made their home in Pocasset and had recently celebrated their
67th anniversary.
Grace was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in
Chickasha. She was also a member of the Arcadia Home
Demonstration Club for over 50 years and served as secretary of
the Friendship Cemetery Board for 22 years.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents: J. J. and Beatrice
Starkey and two sisters: Hazel Malcom and Elene Castillo of the
home; three daughters: Becky and husband Larry Joe Fitzgerald of
Minco, Dianne Jackson and Connie Huseman both of Alex; two
brothers: Herbert Starkey and James and wife Betty Starkey all
of Minco; one sister: Lucille McComas of Chickasha; eight
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Randall Earl Johnson
Graveside services and military honors for Randall Earl Johnson,
85, of Minco, were held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the
Friendship Cemetery southwest of Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Johnson was born April 7, 1923 at Jennylind, Ark. to Charles
Henry and Janice (Copple) Johnson. He died Friday, July 25, 2008
at the Norman Veteran’s Center.
Johnson moved from Eureka, Calif. back to Minco in the 1970s. He
served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War as a
Seaman First Class. He worked as a custodian for a school in
Eureka, Calif. until his return to Minco. He enjoyed helping and
participatiing at the Minco Senior Citizen’s Center.
Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers,
Allen, Elwood, Virgil and Clyde Johnson, and three sisters, Opal
Ingram, Alice Mitchum and Beulah McCartney.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Jo Sparks of Twin Falls, Idaho
and many nieces and nephews.

Asa
Julian “A.J.” Massey
Funeral Services for Asa “A. J.” Massey, 83, of Chickasha , will
be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in the Ferguson
Funeral Home Chapel.
Asa Massey was born May 4, 1925 in Chickasha the son of Asa
Massey Jr. and Vivian F. Elgin Massey. He died May 17, 2008 in
Oklahoma City .
Asa grew up in Chickasha graduating from Chickasha High School
in 1943, where he was active in FFA and football. After high
school he enlisted in the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Belleau
Woods during World War II.
After returning home from the war he met Louella G. Vogel. They
were united in marriage on May 28, 1948 in Chickasha .
Asa’s work in the oilfield took him and Louella many places
nationally and internationally. After forty two years in the oil
field he retired from Chevron in 1990.
After retirement he enjoyed his time farming, working cattle and
most of all the Bar B Q cook outs with his family. He was a
member of the Masons, American Legion and the 1st Christian
Church.
Asa is preceded in death by both parents, and wife Louella.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws: Kenneth and Jane
Massey of Weatherford and Ralph and Cindy Massey, of Edmond ;
Sister Gwen Eisenhour, of Tucson , AZ ; granddaughters and
spouses: Azurde` and Robert Jump, of Duncan , Kendra and Terry
Wyatt, of Duncan, Jennifer, Jessica, and Cassidy Massey, all of
Edmond ; Great-grandchildren: Colton and Hunter Jump and Kenneth
Blake Wyatt, all of Duncan .
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night
from 5 to 7 p.m..
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction
of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Harold
Leymond Childers
Funeral services for Harold Leymond Childers, age 76, of Duncan
were held on Friday, June 6, 2008, in the McRay Funeral Home
Chapel.
Harold was born the son of Jess Childers and Esther Voss
Childers on September 24, 1931, in Hector, Arkansas. He died on
June 2, 2008, in Duncan.
Harold entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
After the war, he came to Chickasha where he met his wife, Anne
Blacksher. They were married on June 2, 1956, in Wichita Falls,
Texas. While in Chickasha, Harold worked as an electrician for
various contractors before starting his own electrical business.
Harold lived in Chickasha for many years and moved to Duncan in
1998.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and his
wife, Anne Childers.
Survivors include a son and wife, Ronnie Childers and Regina of
Blanchard; daughter and husband, Debbie Unwin and Alfred of
Salem, Oregon; daughter Donna Childers of Duncan; son Bruce
Childers of Chickasha; step-son Ricky Malone of Ringling;
brothers Leon and Bob; sisters Maggie and Mabeline;13
grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services were under the
direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Duane Wigley
Funeral services for Duane Wigley, 74, of Chickasha, Oklahoma
were held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral
Home.
Duane Wigley was born February 15, 1934 in Mulberry, Arkansas
the son of William Jennings and Gladys (Albright) Wigley and
died June 6, 2008 in Chickasha.
Duane moved to Tuttle from Lookeba as a teenager and attended
school at Tuttle. He and Shirlene Wood were married June 28,1952
in Chickasha. After moving to Chickasha, Duane worked with his
father-in-law, LaRoy Wood, doing carpenter and construction
work. He later owned and operated Wigley Construction Company.
He was a member of the Parkview Christian Church and served as a
deacon and worked with different youth groups in church and on
special trips. Duane
worked with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and Chickasha Little
League. He was secretary of the Local Carpenters Union, board
member of Norge Water Board and was a charter member and
president of the Chickasha Swinging Chicks Square Dance Club.
He was associated with Winnebago-Itasca Travel and served as a
coordinator.
Duane was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Lynn Wigley on
November 22, 1977 and Martin Duane Wigley on November 9, 1992; a
great grandson, Logan Wigley; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife Shirlene Wigley of the home; two
sons, Randy Wigley of Cement and Steve Wigley and wife, Cheryl,
of Amber; two sisters, Doris Marie McElhaney of Tuttle and
Barbara Jo DeGiusti of Tuttle; one brother, Jimmy Don Wigley of
Tuttle; grandchildren Allison Wigley, Amy McCracken, Jason
Wigley, Brittney Wigley and Tisha Wigley; one great grandchild,
Shylah Wigley; foster daughter Dee Marrin; and many friends.
Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of
Sevier Funeral Home.

Nye
Floyd A. Nye Funeral service for Floyd A. Nye,
94, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday,
April 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah. FLOYD A.
NYE was born April 29, 1914 and died April 1, 2009. Interment
will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, under the direction

Hilda Jane [McGill] Anderson
Anderson, Jane, 81, passed away August 16, 2003, in Midwest City,
OK. Born August 18, 1921 in Gainesville, TX to Robert and Ophelia
[Miford] McGill. Married Rex Anderson September 2, 1939 and raised
three sons and a younger sister in the Chickasha/Ninnekah, OK area.
Following Rex's death, relocated in 1979 to Oklahoma City. Member of
Sooner Baptist Church and loved gardening, baking, crafts, and
playing dominoes. Preceded in death by parents, husband Rex, son Rex
Dwain, and brothers R. C. and Sam McGill. Survivors include: brother
Bill McGill; sister Pat Hoskinson; son Robert and wife Glenda, son
Stephen and wife Janet, and daughter-in-law Rosalee of Oklahoma
City; grandchildren Shawn Anderson, Kimberly Jackson, Brandie
Palmer, Beth Gifford, and Stephanie Anderson; six great
grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear Autumn
House family. Services at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at Sooner
Baptist Church in Midwest City followed by interment at Ninnekah
Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Sooner Baptist Church or

Hilda Jane Anderson
Funeral services for Hilda Jane
Anderson, 81, of Midwest City, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. on
Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Sooner Baptist Church in Midwest City.
Jane Anderson was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Gainesville, Texas, and
died on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in Midwest City. Burial was in
Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, Okla., under the direction of Bill
Eisenhour Funeral Homes, Inc., of Del City, Okla.

James Everett Anderson
J. E. Anderson Rites Sunday
James Everett [Whittie] Anderson, 42
route two, Ninnekah, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. He was born Dec.
1, 1909 in Ninnekah and lived there till his death. Wednesday
morning he went to work at the Standard Cable Co., where he had been
employed the last seven months. He suffered a sudden heart attack
while at work. Chickasha fireman answered a first aid call to 318
South 13th where Mr. Anderson was moved Wednesday evening. A
resuscitator was used for twenty minutes, but to no avail. He was a
machinist and gin worker for the Hart Cotton Machine Co., over 14
years. He was member of the Ninnekah Baptist church, IOOF Lodge 618
and Machinist Local 89. Services have been set for 2 p.m. Sunday in
the Ninnekah high school auditorium. He is survived by his wife,
Thelma, two sons, Elliott and Bill of the home address; one daughter
Joann Knapp, 302 South 15th: three grandchildren. Two brothers Rex
of Chickasha and Ted of Ada. Three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Kishen of
Fresno. Calif., Mrs., Emily Dunn of Witchita Falls, Texas, and Mrs.
Helen McBride of Chickasha. Interment will be in Ninnekah cemetery
under the direction of Chickasha Funeral Home

Lou [Wyatt] Anderson
Services for Mrs. Elliott Anderson
Ninnekah woman who died Wednesday noon in Chickasha
hospital, were conducted at three o'clock Thursday afternoon in the
Ninnekah Methodist Church. Rev. H. P. Harley of Chickasha was in
charge of the services and interment was in the Ninnekah Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson, resident of Ninnekah for several years, is survived
by four sons, Harry, Everett, Rex, and Ted all of Ninnekah. Three
daughters, Mrs. Audrey Kitchen of Ninnekah, Mrs. Emily Dunn of Rush
Springs, and Mrs. Helen McBride of Chickasha. Three brothers, Jim
Wyatt Ninnekah, Ilas Wyatt of Minco, M. B. Wyatt of Harlingen, Texas.
and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Cofer of Ninnekah and Mrs. Mary Cofer
whose home is in Alabama.

Thelma Harriet [Elliott] Anderson

Thelma [Nanaw] Anderson, preceded in death by her
father, Clyde Elliott and mother, Elizabeth Holcomb Elliott, her
first husband Everett Anderson, second husband Oris Lemons, and
her late husband James Steel. Her daughter, J. Joan Hackney, her
sons, Elliott Anderson, William (Bill) Anderson and her
grandson, Phillip Hackney, two sisters, Georgia Helen Elliott,
and Julia Beck and deceased brother, Raymond Elliott.
She is
survived by three brothers, Brooks Elliott, Dale Elliott, and
Clyde Elliott, and four sisters, Lucille McCarthey, Marjorie
Ballard, Bessie Cummings, and Vergie Bridges. She is survived by
grandchildren, Linda Kennedy, Debra Berry, Craig Anderson, Laura
Word, James Anderson, and Donna Tilman. She is also survived by
great- grandchildren Michael Kennedy, Michelle Kennedy, Chad
Berry, Lindsey Berry, Laura Anderson, Jeff Glassco, Meagan
Glassco, James Elliott Anderson, Erin Jennings, Shawn Uits,
David Anderson, Anna Anderson, Wesley Anderson, Whitney Stewart,
Delaney Word and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was
89.
She was born March 8, 1910 in De Queen. Arkansas. She died
May 11 1999 in Oklahoma City. Thelma was very caring and
generous to charitable organizations. She was a member of
Eastern Star, Brookwood Baptist Church and several women
organization. Thelma died from of injuries incurred in the
tornado on May 3, 1999.
In lieu of flowers the family has
requested donations be made to the Brookwood Baptist Tornado
Relief Fund, 8921 S. Walker Okla. City, OK. Services will be
1:00 p.m. Friday May 14, 1999 at Brookwood Baptist Church with

Death Takes Mrs. Loni McGill
Mrs., Lonie O. McGill 50, died at 6 o'clock Thursday evening at
her home northeast of the city. Funeral services were to be
conducted at 4 P.M. today in the chapel of the Chickasha Funeral
Home by H. P. Haley. Burial was to be in the Amber Cemetery.
Mrs., McGill had been in falling health since February. She was
born Sept. 24, 1891, in Alabama. She had been a resident of
Oklahoma
for 19 years, having lived in and around
Chickasha
for the past 15 years. She was a member of the
Methodist Church
at Silvies Benn,
Texas. Surviving members of the family include her
husband R. C. McGill two daughters Mrs., Hilida
Jane Anderson of Chickasha, Patsy Ruth McGill at home,
and three sons, R. C. Jr., Sam, Billy M. all of home. This
how it was in the paper. She died Aug. 20, 1942.

Funeral Held Jan. 4 For Mr. YATES
Lawrence Eugene Yates was
born November 21, 1922 in Tuttle, Oklahoma and departed this life
December 31, 1979 in San Jose, California.
Services were held Friday, Jan. 4, 1980 at Most Hold Trinity church.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; two sons, Larry and Tony; one
daughter, Patricia; four grandsons.
He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Omar Yates of
Tuttle, OK; three brothers, Jim, Dean and W.C.; four sisters,
Gwendolyn, Virginia, and Greda. One brother, Melvin, proceeded him in
death in Korea, March 13, 1951.
He entered submarine service in 1940. After three years he
transferred to the U.S. Air Force and continued in the service until
retiring in 1963.

Funeral service for Dale Alan
Smith, age 53, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1 pm on
Thursday, March 12, 2009, in the College Heights Baptist Church.
Rev. James Swain will officiate and Rev. Mick Hoggatt and Rev. Bryan
Haynes will assist.
Dale Alan Smith: Believer, Husband, Father, Son, Educator, and Dear
Friend. Dale went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2009, in
Chickasha. He was born the son of AK "Pete" Smith and Martha "Jayne"
Morris Smith on August 17, 1955, in Moses Lake, Washington.
Dale was raised in Tipton, Oklahoma. He married the love of his
life, Vickie Summers, on December 22, 1978, in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Dale and Vickie made their home in Chickasha shortly after they were
married and raised their three children, Alan, Allison, and Matthew.
Mr. Smith received his bachelor of education from Southwestern
Oklahoma State University and his master of education from the
University of Oklahoma. Dale was an educator for 30 years. He taught
at Amber-Pocasset Public Schools for seven years, he was the
elementary principal at Alex Public Schools for nine years and for
the last 13 years was the superintendent at Friend Public School.
Dale was a member of the Oklahoma Association of School
Administrators and the Oklahoma Rural Elementary School. Dale was a
devoted, loved, and faithful member of the College Heights Baptist
Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Keith Smith; parents, AK
"Pete" and Martha "Jayne" Smith and brother, Johnny Smith. Survivors
include Wife: Vickie Smith of Chickasha, Daughter: Allison Smith of
Norman, Son: Matthew Smith of Moore, Stepmother: Donna Smith of
Tipton, Stepsiblings: Christie Lovejoy and Misty Walker of Amarillo,
Texas, Stepsibling: Bill David Walker of Waynoka, Stepsibling: Dayna
Boman of Lubbock, Texas, Many Nieces, Nephews, and Dear Friends.
Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the College Heights Baptist
