Samuel W. Brence
Graveside services for Samuel W. Brence, 78 of McCloud, former
Minco resident will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 2 pm at the
Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. Paul Nix of Choctaw
officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home
in Minco.
Samuel W. Brence was born August 8, 1927 at Cloud Chief,
Oklahoma to Harry and Betty (Craig) Brence and died Sunday,
April 30 at his home in McCloud.
Mr. Brence was a high school graduate and attended barber
college. He moved to Minco in 1959 then to Big Spring, Texas in
1988 and Hawkins, Texas in 1992, then settled in McCloud since
1998. He married Marcella Loganbill on August 10, 1947 in
Cordell. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII
and retired from the Federal Prison Systems in 1992. He was a
member of the Harrah Senior Citizens.
Mr. Brence was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Betty
Brence; Wife: Marcella Brence on March 18, 2001; two sisters:
Addie Mae Siemens and Faye Bynum.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and
Debbie Brence of Minco, Randy and Dee Dee Brence of Choctaw,
Russell and Lisa Brence of Alexandria, Louisiana; one daughter
and son-in-law: Donna and Bryan Mannion of Plano, Texas; one
sister and brother-in-law: Ruby Nell and J. R. Clemments of
Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Travis H. Jolly
Funeral services for Travis H. Jolly, 88 of Minco were held
Tuesday, July 18, 2006, 10 am at the First Baptist Church of
Minco with Rev. Bob Denny of Oklahoma City officiating.
Travis H. Jolly was born November 6, 1917 at Lawton to Jesse and
Gladys (Davis) Jolly and died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at
Chickasha.
He lived in and around the Minco community all of his life.
After graduating high school joined the military served in the
United States Navy during WWII on the destroyer U.S.S. Bancroft.
He married Thelma Johnson on July 30, 1935 at Anadarko and would
have been married 71 years. He owned and operated a farm and
dairy farm until his retirement. Mr. Jolly was a member of the
First Baptist Church in Minco where he served as a Deacon and
Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Jolly was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Gladys
Jolly and a younger sister Patsy Jean Wermske.
He is survived by his wife Thelma of the home in Minco; one son
and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Dianna Jolly of Las Vegas,
Nevada; one daughter and son-in-law: Sondra and Keith Lindsey of
Minco; one brother: Lester Jolly of Minco; four grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Ricci Rachelle Polk
Graveside services for Ricci Rachelle Polk, 36 former Minco
resident were held Friday, July 21, 2006, 10 am at the Evergreen
Cemetery in Minco. Rev. Steven Massey officiated under the
direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
Ricci Rachelle Polk was born March 24, 1970 in Oklahoma City to
Tony Barba and Sandra Stiles and died Monday, July 10, 2006 at
Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Ricci had lived in Oklahoma most of her life and worked as a
game operator for a traveling carnival.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Sandra (Stiles)
Sultuska and Tony Barba.
Survivors include Stepfather: Rodney Sultuska of Oklahoma City;
two sons and a daughter-in-law: Doug and Janis Polk of Blanchard
and Tony Polk of Oklahoma City; one daughter: Jessica Polk of
Oklahoma City; one sister and brother-in-law: Donise and
Jeremiah Gwin of Minco; one brother: Chris Barba of Boley; two
grandchildren: Damien and Charley Polk of Blanchard.

Kathleen Ruth “Orr”
Farris
Funeral services for Kathleen Ruth Farris were held Wednesday,
August 2, 2006, 2 pm at the Minco First Baptist Church with Rev.
Curtis Robertson of the Minco Canaan Baptist Church officiating.
Kathleen Ruth Farris was born August 21, 1938 at Muskogee,
Oklahoma to Frank and Jewell (Smith) Orr and died Sunday, July
30, 2006 at El Reno. She married Howard Wayne Farris on August
2, 1957 at Oklahoma City and came to the Minco community in 1968
from Oklahoma City. She was a member and pianist of the Canaan
Baptist Church of Minco.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Jewell Orr;
Husband: Howard W. Farris 7-25-2002.
She is survived by one son: Monte Wayne Farris of Tuttle; one
daughter: Gina Gail Bassham of Tuttle; one sister: Cindy Sides
of El Reno; four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Ellen Ruth “Benson” Osborn
Funeral services for Ellen Ruth Osborn, 94 of Minco were held
Sunday, August 20, 2006, 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church
of Minco with Rev. Bob Denny and Rev. Steve Shellhammer
officiating.
Ellen Ruth Osborn was born July 2, 1912 at Venus, Texas to
William Walker and Lula (Trippet) Benson and died Friday, August
18, 2006 at El Reno.
She lived in the Minco and Pocasset communities for 81 years,
since the age of 13.
Ellen was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in
Minco.
She married Frankie James Osborn on November 14, 1932.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Lula
Benson; her husband: Frankie James Osborn on 8-10-1977; a son:
James Roy Osborn on 4-16-1999; one granddaughter: Lori Lee
Vickrey.
Survivors include: One daughter and son-in-law: Norma and Eugene
Vickrey of Minco; one daughter-in-law: Carolyn Osborn of Oregon;
one sister: Doris Orahood of Oklahoma City; one sister-n-law:
Erma Benson of Blackwell; six grandchildren; 15 great
grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.

Jack Dewayne
(Lightning) Wakefield
Services for Jack Dewayne “Lightning” Wakefield, 78 of Minco
were held Wednesday, August 30, 2006, 2 pm at the First Baptist
Church of Minco with Rev. Steve Shellhammer of the Minco First
Baptist Church officiating. Burial and military honors were at
the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
Jack Dewayne “Lightning” Wakefield was born February 21, 1928
southwest of Minco in the Burr Oak community to Fred A. “Fritz”
and Bessie (Dobbs) Wakefield and died Sunday, August 27, 2006 at
the Veterans Medical Center in Norman.
He attended the Burr Oak and Minco schools. He was a member of
the Hazel Dell Baptist Church NW of Minco and was baptized on
September 13, 1945 in Salyers Lake, NW of Minco. He was raised
in the Minco area, moved to El Reno at a later age, and had
lived back in Minco the last 22 years. Jack served in the United
States Army during WWII in the Japan occupation as a Tech 5. He
was a member of the El Reno VFW Post 382 and the El Reno
American Legion Post 34. He had worked as a carpenter and
retired from the Rock Island Railroad.
He was preceded in death by: Parents: Fritz and Bessie
Wakefield; one brother: Arthur Fred Wakefield; an infant
daughter: Karrie Lou Wakefield on December 24, 1955 and a
brother-in-law: Buford Hines.
He is survived by: two sons and spouses: Joel and Carol
Wakefield of Chandler, Brad and Charlotte Wakefield of El Reno;
two sisters and brother-in-law: LaVerne Hines of Minco, Virginia
and Roy Hayes of Minco; five grandchildren: Joey and Sherry
Wakefield of Chandler, Brandi and Michael Murray of Chandler,
Brooke and David Pruett of Yukon, Matt Wakefield of Weatherford
and Stacy Wakefield of Oklahoma City; five great grandchildren:
Braydon Murray of Chandler, Tyler Wakefield, Hunter Treaster and
Treyton Ahernd all of Chandler, Tyler Pruett of Yukon.

Ralph E. McDaniel
Funeral services for Ralph E. McDaniel, 91, of Minco, Oklahoma
were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2006 at the First
Baptist Church of Minco.
Ralph E. McDaniel was born October 6, 1914 in Chattanooga,
Oklahoma the son of Troy Crosby and Gladys Sarah (Forester)
McDaniel and died August 30, 2006 in Chickasha.
Ralph was a farmer and later worked for John Deere Implement. He
preached for many years for Assembly of God Churches including
Minco, Chickasha, Sharon Evangel near Amber and many other
churches in Oklahoma and Kansas. He and Hazel Warren were
married September 25, 1935 in Chickasha.
Ralph was preceded in death by: Parents; two sons: Wayne Eugene
McDaniel, Kenneth McDaniel; one daughter: Margaret Ann McDaniel;
one brother: Clarence McDaniel.
Survivors include: Wife: Hazel McDaniel of the home; one son:
Donald Ralph McDaniel and wife Janet of Minco; one
daughter-in-law: Donna McDaniel of Stillwater; two brothers:
Myrle McDaniel of Buda, Texas, Richard McDaniel of Bristow; four
grandchildren: Kevin McDaniel and wife Jimmie Dawn, Kendall
McDaniel and wife Roni, Troy McDaniel and wife Tammy, Benjamin
McDaniel and wife Stacy; eleven great grandchildren; host of
nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, under the
direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Betty L. “Felkins”
Chitwood
Graveside services for Betty L. Chitwood, 71, of Oklahoma City
were held Monday, September 25, 2006, 2 pm at the Evergreen
Cemetery in Minco with Rev. David Mercer of the Minco United
Methodist Church officiating. Services under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Betty L. Chitwood was born April 15, 1935 at Frisco, Oklahoma to
Lester Ray and Venita (Voyles) Felkins and died Friday,
September 22, 2006 at her home in Oklahoma City. She was raised
in Stonewall, Oklahoma, had lived in the Oklahoma City area
since 1970. She married James W. Chitwood on July 17, 1970 at
Gainsville, Texas and worked as a supply clerk for Western
Electric until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Venita
Falkins.
She is survived by her husband James of the home in Oklahoma
City; twin brothers and sister-in-law: Perry and Terry Felkins
of Morris, Oklahoma, Jerry and Pat Felkins of Oxnard,
California.

Anna Marie “Collins”
Payne
Church services for Anna Marie Payne, 48 of the Minco-Cogar area
were held on Saturday, October 8, 2006, 2 pm at the Canaan
Baptist Church NE of Minco with Rev. Curtis Robertson of the
church officiating.
Anna Marie Payne was born February 6, 1958 at El Reno to Frank
R. and Faye (Kinder) Collins and died Tuesday, October 3, 2006
at her home in Cogar after a lengthy illness.
She lived in the Minco-Cogar area all of her life. She graduated
from Binger High School in 1976 and was a member of the Canaan
Baptist Church NW of Minco. She worked at a local hog farm with
the newborn pigs.
She is survived by: Parents: Frank and Faye Collins of the home
in Cogar; one daughter: Cassie Payne of the Homesteaders Life
Insurance Company; one brother: Frank D. Collins of Cogar; two
sisters and brother-in-law: Lillian Faye and Stan Crawley of
Blanchard, Paula Yevonne Henderson of Shawnee.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

James (Jim) Elbert
Morton, Jr.
James “Jim” Elbert Morton Jr. died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at
the age of 58.
He was born in Norfolk, VA, to James Elbert Sr. and Inez
(Campbell) Morton. He graduated high school from Williambyrd,
VA, and lived in Roanoke, VA, before moving to Mustang, OK in
1995 and later to Tuttle, OK in 2001.
Jim served his country in the US Army and was a member of the
American Legion in El Reno, OK. He was a car salesman most
recently with Diffee Motor Company in El Reno, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his
wife Linda (Pliler) of the home, two sons James Elbert Morton
III and wife Michelle of Barboursville, VA, Patrick Noble
Pathkiller and wife Meranda of Melrose, Kansas, one daughter,
Michelle Marie Morton of Tuttle, OK, stepmother June Morton of
Lexington, VA, two step sisters, two grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the
First Church of the Nazarene in Mustang, OK, with interment to
follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, OK, under the direction
of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

James Warren (Jim)
Madison
Services for James Warren “Jim” Madison, 58 former Minco
resident were held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 1 pm at the
Huber-Benson Chapel at 100 S. Barker in El Reno, with visitation
beginning on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 from 1pm - 8pm at the
Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno. Rev. Steven Shellhammer
pastor of the Minco First Baptist Church will officiate and
burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
James Warren “Jim” Madison was born July 13, 1948 at Minco to
James H. and Kathryn Alma (Boaz) Madison and died Sunday,
November 26, 2006 at his home in Port Aransas, Texas.
He was raised in the Minco community where he graduated from
Minco High School. Mr. Madison had worked as a police officer at
Chickasha for approximately four years and worked at the El Reno
Federal Corrections Institute where he retired as a senior guard
in 2001. He was a member of ABATE- biking club - A Brotherhood
Aiming Towards Education. He attended and organized many bike
runs, toy drives, fund raisers and was also a motorcycle Santa
all for ways to raise money and awareness for children. His next
run was to be the Jim Madison Toy Project in Port Aransas, TX on
December 9, 2006 which will still take place as the Jim Madison
Memorial Toy Project - anyone wanting to donate in lieu of
flowers can make checks or donations payable to Kelly Madison in
c/o Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Jim lived in the Minco community till his retirement in 2001
when he chose to travel and settle in Port Aransas, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents: James H. Madison and
Kathryn Beaty.
Survivors include: a son: James “Kelly” Madison of Owasso,
Oklahoma; two adopted boys: Kevin Fertic of Washington, Oklahoma
and Robert Brown of Oologah, Oklahoma; four grandchildren:
April, Austin, Alexis, and Kody Madison all of Owasso, Oklahoma.

James Emmett Elliott
James Emmett Elliott, born April 3, 1934, passed away at the age
of 72 on Saturday, December 9, 2006, after a short battle with
cancer. Mr. Elliott was born in Minco, OK, and graduated from
Vian High School in Vian, OK. He attended Arkansas City Junior
College in Arkansas City, KS, where he met and married his wife,
Esther Jean. He graduated college from Southwestern State
College in Winnfield, KS. He relocated to Buras, LA, in 1958 and
was a partner in a successful parts and hardware business. He
worked as a businessman in Buras and in Belle Chasse for 40
years, was a resident of Plaquemines Parish for 48 years, and
served as a member and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of
Belle Chasse and as Board Member of the First Baptist Church
Kindergarten.
Mr. Elliott is preceded in death by his parents: William
Christopher and Lula Lattimore; brothers: William C. and John
Thomas Elliott; a sister: Ann Lou Basore; and a niece: Lee Anne
Roberts.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Esther
Jean Lacquement Elliott; two daughters, Kathleen Jean Elliott
and husband, D. Stephen Voss of Lexington, KY, and Mary
Elizabeth Elliott of Denham Springs, LA; his siblings: Kathleen
Lambert and husband Denzille of Lawton, OK, Vertie Belle Elliott
of Oklahoma City, OK, Frank Elliott and wife Eleanor of
Covington, LA, Charles Elliott and wife Edla of Pokeville, NC,
Judy Brown and husband Charles of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary Lee
Roberts and husband Troy of Westville, OK, Faye Anderson and
husband Bobby of Vian, OK, Aaron Elliott and wife Billie June of
Vian, OK; nephews: W. Christopher Elliott, F. J. Elliott, Mark,
Bill, Charles-Alan, Steven, and BillBob and nieces Denise,
Wendy, Diane, Cheri, Carol, Chris, Jane-Anne, Susan, Sherry,
Maryanne, Troy-Lynne and three grandchildren, Gareth James Voss,
Corrine Faye Elliott and Elizabeth Rene Elliott all of
Lexington, KY, and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a funeral service
at First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse at 8828 Hwy 23 at 11 AM
on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. A visitation was held at the
church from 9 AM until funeral time on Tuesday. Funeral services
will be held with extended family in Minco, OK at Graveside only
Friday, December 15, 2006 at 1 PM with Rev. Steve Shellhammer,
pastor Minco First Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Elliott will
be laid to rest in the Elliott family plot at Evergreen Cemetery
in Minco, OK with arrangements by Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in
Minco.

Gerald B. (Pistol) Locke
Funeral services for Gerald B. “Pistol” Locke, 71 former Minco
resident were held on Friday January 19, 2007, 2 pm at the First
Baptist Church of Minco with Rev. Jerry Cradduck officiating.
Pistol was born on March 13, 1935 at Minco to Jesse Barney and
Mabel Marie (Myers) Locke. He passed away on Tuesday, January
16, 2007 at Oklahoma City.
Pistol had lived in the Minco and Cogar community all of his
life and graduated from Minco High School in 1955. He joined and
served in the United States Air Force after Korea. He worked and
retired from the City of Minco as a maintenance worker. Pistol
married Beulah Ola (Scoggins) on June 22, 1992 at El Reno.
Mr. Locke was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Mabel
Locke; wife Ola on June 26, 1995; one brother: Allan A. Locke;
one sister: Linda Taylor.
He is survived by one daughter: Rebecca (Unknown last name and
address); two sisters and brothers-in-law: Joy and Vernon
Kettler of Tuttle and Pat and Don Chism of San Mateo, CA; three
brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ben Locke of Crescent, Dean and
Kelly Locke of Edmond, and Willie and Susan Locke of Frazier
Park, CA; one brother-in-law: Jerry Taylor of Chandler.

Mildred J. Phelps
Graveside services for Mildred J. Phelps, 86 of Minco were held on
Monday, February 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in
Minco with Rev. David Mercer from the Minco United Methodist Church
officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of
Minco.
Mildred J. Phelps was born January 10, 1921 at Rush Springs to Sam
and Jessie Mae (Taylor) Greenroyd and died Friday, February 23, 2007
at Chickasha. She was a lifelong resident of Minco. Mildred married
Patrick Henry Phelps, Sr. on July 2, 1938 at Grady/Caddo/Canadian
County line. She was a homemaker, a member of the Minco United
Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Mildred was preceded in death by Parents; Husband: Patrick, Sr. on
7-10-1987; three sisters: Cynthia Hoven, Jerry Horn, and Babs
Redding; three brothers: Melvin “Coot” Greenroyd, Glen Greenroyd,
Sid Greenroyd; three half brothers: John Newman, Wesley Greenroyd,
Sr. and Brady Greenroyd; one great grandson: Ryan Stroud; and a
son-in-law: John David Wehling.
Mildred is survived by: One son and daughter-in-law: Patrick Jr. and
Jerry Phelps of Ft. Cobb Lake; one daughter: Marilyn Wehling of
Oklahoma City; two brothers: Haskell Greenroyd, Sr. of Minco, Wesley
“Sonny” Jr. and Janice Greenroyd of Spencer; three sisters-in-law:
Helen Greenroyd of Oklahoma City, Leona Fowler and Lou Phelps both
of Minco; brother-in-law: Junior Horn of Minco; nine grandchildren;
21 Great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

James Robert Horn
Graveside services for James Robert Horn, 85 of Minco were held
Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 10 am at the Evergreen Cemetery in
Minco with Rev. Brent Lauder of the First Reformed Presbyterian
Church in Minco officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds
Funeral Home of Minco.
James Robert Horn was born May 28, 1921 at Minco to Wiley Bruce and
Ethel Laura (Carrell) Horn and died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at
Chickasha.
Mr. Horn was a lifelong resident of Minco and a member of the First
Baptist Church in Minco. He worked as the manager of the Miller
Grain Elevator and after retiring he worked as a farmer. Mr. Horn
served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Mary
Laverne Balke on March 1, 1960 at Minco.
Mr. Horn was preceded in death by: Parents; wife Laverne on December
9, 2005; sister-in-law: Jerry Horn.
He is survived by: One daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Larry Brown
of Minco; one brother: Junior Horn of Minco; two grandchildren:
Robbie and wife Jana Brown of Minco, Tiffany Ann Brown of Minco.

Floy Ann McClure
Funeral services
for Floy Ann McClure, a former Minco resident, were held Jan. 16 at
First Baptist Church in Minco with Rev. Stephen Shelhamer
officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery under direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. McClure died Jan. 13 at the Sonterra Nursing Center in San
Antonio.
She was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Smackover, Ark. Born and raised in
Smackover, she moved to Minco in 1946.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales clerk in the Branums
Variety Store in Minco.
She was a member of Eastern Star and First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Amos McClure of Tulsa; a daughter, Paula
Tolbert of San Antonio; a sister, Geneva Haynes of Little Rock,
Ark.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Travis Eugene
Spence, born December 3, 1977 at Oklahoma City to Alton Eugene and
Brenda Hazel (Loyall) Spence, died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at
Baptist hospital in Oklahoma City. Services for Travis Eugene
Spence, 31 of Minco will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009,
2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Minco. Officiating, Rev.
Eric Stock of the First Baptist Church in Union City. Burial,
Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds
Funeral Home in Minco.

John Campbell
Services for John W. Campbell, 65, of Minco, were held Monday,
April 7, 2008 at the Assembly of God in Minco with Rev. Larry
Harris of the Tuttle Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial
was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
Campbell was born Sept. 23, 1942 in Oden, Ark. to Kermit and
Gladys (Fountain) Campbell. He died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in
Chickasha.
Campbell moved to Minco from Union City, and lived in the
community for five years. He worked as a flight inspection
specialist for FAA and Tinker AFB and retired after 35 years of
service. He married Brenda Barham on April 18, 2000 in
Gainsville, Texas. He was a member of the Shriners and was a
32nd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Gladys
Campbell.
Campbell is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; two sons
and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Campbell of Mustang and
Scott and Krista Campbell of Oklahoma City; one stepson, Robert
Criss of Korea; one stepdaughter, Lacey and Kristopher Bracken
of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, R. L. Campbell of Ft. Smith,
Ark.; two sisters, Shirley and Bill Spencer of Hot Springs,
Ark., and Alta Mullinax also of Hot Springs; three
grandchildren, Christina, Brittany and Breanna; four
stepgrandchildren, Logan, Brendan, Layla and Gavyn; and four
great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaden, Sydney and Kelsey.

Herbert G. Starkey
Funeral services for Herbert G. Starkey, 93 of Minco will be
held Thursday, April 5, 2007 10 am at the First Baptist Church
of Minco with Jim Ross of the Minco Church of Christ
officiating.
Herbert G. Starkey was born February 24, 1914 at Oklahoma City
to Joseph James and Beatrice (Strever) Starkey and died Sunday,
April 1, 2007 at his home in Minco.
Mr. Starkey attended school from 1st - 8th grade at Crooked Oak
in East OKC, then went to Capitol Hill for 9th - 11th and
graduated from Minco High School after his Senior year. He
farmed all of his life. He served as a STAFF Sgt. in the United
States Army Air Corps during WWII, he served from 8-3-1943 to
11-29-1945 and was stationed in New Guinea and Australia. Mr.
Starkey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Minco and a
member of the American Legion Minco Post #215.
Mr. Starkey was preceded in death by his parents J.J. and
Beatrice Starkey; Three sisters: Grace Rowe, Hazel Malcom, and
Elene Castillo.
He is survived by: One brother and sister-in-law: James and
Betty Starkey of Minco; One brother-in-law: Dale Rowe of
Pocasset; One sister: Lucille McComas of Chickasha and a host of
nieces and nephews.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Delbert Martin Rowe
Wake services for Delbert Martin Rowe, 93 of Minco were held
Wednesday, April 4, 2007, 7 pm at St. Josephs Catholic Church in
Union City. Mass services will be held on Thursday, April 5,
2007, 1 pm at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Union City with
Rev. Francis Nguyen of the church officiating.
Delbert Martin Rowe was born August 15, 1913 at El Reno to
Delbert Francis and Lucy (Harper) Rowe and died Monday, April 2,
2007 at Chickasha.
Mr. Rowe graduated Minco High School in 1932, joined the United
States Air Force and served in WWII. He married Margaret
Elizabeth “Betty” Downey on December 17, 1937 at El Reno and was
a Farmers Insurance Agent. He farmed most all of his life and
was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Union City. Mr.
Rowe was a member of the El Reno VFW Post and the American
Legion Post #215-Minco. He served on the Hazel Dell School Board
and on the Minco election board for many years.
Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by: Parents: Delbert and Lucy
Rowe; Wife: Betty on 5-15-2005; and one sister: Grace Rowe.
He is survived by: One brother: Dale Rowe of Pocasset; One
sister: Marjorie Hurley of Minco; numerous nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
