If you would like to be kept informed of our state and county website updates, subscribe to our mailing lists

This Greer County Site is Available for Adoption!
We are looking for a coordinator for this site. We're looking for folks who share our dedication to putting data
online and are interested in helping this project be as helpful and useful to researchers as it can be. If you
are interested in joining our group, view our Volunteer Page
for further information and contact Kim.
From 1860 to 1896, the State of Texas claimed an area known as Greer County, Texas which included present-day Greer
County along with neighboring areas. The county was assigned to the Oklahoma Territory on May 4, 1896, and when
Oklahoma became a state, in addition to becoming Greer County, the region was also further split into Harmon, Jackson,
and part of Beckham counties. Its county seat is Mangum.
