Here To
Provide Free Historical and
Genealogical
Data For All Researchers
Just a
word of thanks to my wonderful
contribuators who
have shared their time
to make things
easier for all
researchers. My
personal thanks to Eddene Thompson
(Craig County) and
Marca Lee Jeanette
McInnes Murray for
her
submissions
for
many counties. Without you our
data
would be alot
less for all.
Also I
would like to thank 2
county hosts for
their time and
effort; Dale and
Michelle. Linda
(Dyer) Craig.

Oklahoma became the 46th state in the Union on
November 16, 1907. It
was
given
the
nickname a s
the
"Sooner
State" The Capital and
the largest
city
is
Oklahoma City.
Today,
the state
contains
more
native American tribal
headquarters than
any other state,
as
well as the
nation's largest
American Indian
population
The
Oklahoma Tourism Department
divides the
state
into six regions

purposes:

The Panhandle),
Great
Plains
Country
(Southwestern Oklahoma,
including the

Metropolitan
area)

Country (Central Oklahoma,
including the
Oklahoma City
Metropolitan
area)
Green

(Northeastern
Oklahoma,
including the Tulsa
Metropolitan
area)
Kiamichi
country (Southeastern
Oklahoma)
Lake
& Trail Country (South Central
Oklahoma)
I do not have a date for this
picture but from the dress I would say
before 1910
at least
judging from
their
dress. It is
very faded and is on
a cardboard
back.
It is
one of the pictures
that
Aunt Lillian
Garner Mayes had or could
have even been
my
grandmother's.
Grandmother
lived with Aunt
Lillian
after my
grandfather died in 1945.
It may
have been
in
Meeker, Payson, or Stroud, Oklahoma.

Welcome to the Genealogy Trails
website for the State of Oklahoma. My
name is Linda
Craig and
I am
the
coordinator for this state
site. I
am sorry
that I
cannot
do personal
research
at
this time, but I
will be more than happy
to steer you in
directions that might
be of use.
Our goal is
to help
you track your
ancestors through
time by
transcribing genealogical and
historical
data
and placing it online
for
the free use of
all researchers.
Please feel free
to copy any
information for
your own
personal use.
However,
nothing may
be
used for profit or copied
to another
non-profit genealogy
group without
written
approval.
Please
feel free to
link to any of our
sites. Thanks
for looking at our
state. We are
in need of individual
county
hosts.
Oklahoma is the home of
many
universities
and colleges located
thru
out the
state. We
have
recently had the
honor of becoming home
to the Oklahoma
Thunder pro basketball
team.
We're looking for folks who share
our dedication to putting data online
and are
interested in
helping
this
project be as helpful and
useful to
researchers as it can
be. If
you are
interested
in
joining our group
as a county host,
view
our Volunteer Page for further information and contact Kim. We welcome your feedback and comments, and of
course, your data contributions. If
you have transcribed
data that you would like to have posted
on this website,
please send it to Linda. If you would like to be kept
informed of our state
and county website updates, subscribe to
our mailing lists
Thanks to Frances Cooley for this picture!
Oklahoma is one of
the six states on the Frontier Strip. It
is bounded

Arkansas
and Missouri, on the
north by Kansas and
northwest by Colorado on the far
west by New
Mexico and on the south and near-west by
Texas.
