| Casselman, William Woodrow (Jack) was born
January 31, 1918. He enlisted in the US Army on April 22, 1944 while living in Seminole, Seminole, Oklahoma. He had attended Seminole High School. His rank was Private First Class. He served overseas four months in anti-air craft and died March 10, 1945 in action in the vicinity of Duttenburg (Rhineland) Germany. He left a widow, Mrs. Eva Virginia Casselman of Route 3 Orland, California. He recieved the Compat Infantry Badge. |
| Hamilton, Roy Lee was the son of Mr. & Mrs.
John W. Hamilton of Crowell, Seminole County, Oklahoma. He was born on May 21, 1917. He attended Strothers High School in Seminole County. He enlisted in the US Army on November 20, 1940 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Roy was killed in action in France on August 1, 1944. |
| Jenkins, Delbert Ray was born on March 18,
1918. He graduated from High School at New Lima, Oklahoma in May 1937. He enlisted in the US Army as a private first class on March 10, 1941. He served as a Gunner in a Tank (603 Tank Co.) and was sent to secure the Island of Corregidor; all the crew except the driver lost their lives on February 27, 1945 in Corregidor, Phillippine Island. When he enlisted he was living in Seminole, Seminole County. Oklahoma. Had a brother T. S. Jenkins who lived at 408 North 2nd Street in Seminole. |
| Robertson, Horace Greeley was born September 2,
1923. He attended Wewoka High School. He enlisted into the US Army Air Corps on December 28, 1942 and made the rank of Staff Sergeant. He died in action on a combat mission attacking enemy installations in the vicinity of Suhsien, Anhwei Province in China on March 10, 1945. His military decorations were the Citation of Honor and Order of the Purple Heart that was awarded posthumously to his mother Mrs. Gussie F. Snowden of Wewoka. |
| White, Seldon T. was born on January 5,
1922. He attended high school at Spaudling, Oklahoma and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps while living at Sasakwa, Seminole County. He attained the rank of Private First Class. He was stationed with the marines at Shanghai, China pre-Pearl Harbor. He served as a radio operator with the Fourth Marines. He died on July 7, 1943 in action on the beach at Palawan Philippine Islands. His mother, Mrs. Sallie E. White of 1101 West Wapanucka Ave., in Sulphur, Garvin County, Oklahoma received his American Defense Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the Order of the Purple Heart posthumously. |
| Womack, George Allen was born January 29,
1926. His mothers name was Mrs. Mary Ellen Womack both of Sasakwa. George attended Sasakwa schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 29, 1943 as a Seaman First Class. He served as Gunner in Naval Air Operations, Third Fleet in the Pacific. The citation with the Airmedal was awarded for participation "in aerial flight under fire, in operations against the enemy on the night of November 14, 1944 in the Western Pacific Ocean," in a Navy Liberator Search Plane, stated in part: "His courageous and steadfast manning of battle station throughout the hazardous tactics employed against the enemy materially contributed to the success of the mission." His Commanding officer furthur stated "In the time that your son was serving with our squadron his performance of duty was at all times outstanding." He died February 17, 1945 in action near the coast of Palawan, Philipine Islands. |
