To Mr. Badgley
We dedicate this annual to Mr.
Badgley who, during his past two
years at Philomath High School,
has done much to raise the moral
and promote the general interest
of the boys in the athletic field
to the point where the will to
win has been developed. We wish to
express also our gratitude for
his understanding and unfailing
interest, not only in our school
work but also in our
extra-curricular activities.

SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY
The year is 1959, and the place is the Waucomah Theater, where the Senior
Class of '49' is rehearsing the come-back of the great hit, "Feudin' In The
Hills."
To get things underway, Professor Manning is calling the cast and its
helpers together.
Nita Thomas is the first to arrive. She is now the owner of the "Warriors
Tepee", formerly called the Chintimini Cafe. She also has a small branch in
Corvallis called, "Papoose's Den", the former Wagner's Restaurant.
Bonnie Prather is now making millions in the accounting business. She is
keeping account of Nita's money, which is a full time job.
Next to make his appearance is Ivan Adams, the ex-proprietor of the Philomath
Self-Service Gas Station. He has employed ten girls and he has a full-time
job keeping his eyes on the girls.
Prof. just received a telegram from Delores Gee, regretting that she can't
be here because she has so many little "Gollys" to take care of.
Yippee Skippy! Lodena Wood has just returned from Dark Africa where she is
teaching music. When asked if she enjoys her work she said, "But Definitely".
In comes the dashing playboy, Jerry Beattie, who inherited a fortune. We
see by Hedda Hopper's column that he has been seen escorting several movie
actresses to various premiers.
Beverly Tunison has just joined the Waves so that she can be a private
secretary to her commanding officer, Clifford Johnson.
Darlene Hewitt wanders in, still explaining to us what her career is going
to be. If she ever gets through telling us of her plans, she will be an artist.
Here comes Elwyn Ellis singing, "Fourteen Years With The Wrong Woman"; however,
they are still going steady.
Donna Jean Harlan just flew in from Chicago where she is Chief Editor of the
Chicago Tribune. She is thrilled with her work and naturally with her very
efficient office boy, Bill Hunt.
Myrtle Mulkey tells us that she has gotten her man. Luckily he is a
millionaire. Now she can build her home for orphans, called "Half A Chance
Ranch."
Crash! Bang! Boom! What's that? Professor of Chemistry, LeRoy Green is still
trying to find a secret formula for lipstick that doesn't rub off.
Helen Quetschke just came in with her arms loaded with potatoes and carrots
that she has furnished for our Senior "Feast" after rehearsal. She tells us that
she raised them on her "Old Maid's Farm."
The famous juvenile judge, Lois Leder, is doing great business in the
flourishing town of Philomath. She has certainly had enough actual experience at
this
so she tells us.
What's that we hear back-stage? Oh yes, K-Kaktus Kisor's Band, known in our
school days as Ben Kisor's, is tuning up for the number between acts.
The girl that has so many pen pals, Shirley Arnold, just arrived from New
York City. She is now president of the Foreign Pen Pal Club.
Ah, yes, here comes Ted "Speedy" Smith. He is passing through with his
circus in which he stars in the Dare-Devil Motorcycle act.
Lorraine Hilton, the Carnival Queen of '48' proudly announces that she is now
running for Mrs. America, the nation-wide beauty contest.
The vivacious Joyce Shroyer just entered. She is still trying to decide on
which one of her many men she really wants.
Who is this coming in with that manly physique? Oh yes, it's Jess Howard. He
just flew up from Hollywood where he is getting filthy-rich teaching the stars
how to play professional tennis.
The most popular girl singer of the day, Willajean Stahl, is as busy as
usual making people happy with her canary-like voice.
Reverend Larry Burnworth answers the roll with a loud "Amen"! He is still
trying to dry up the town bums.
It seems as though Gladys Arnold has done fairly well for herself. She has
a fine home and six charming daughters. The girls all love to be in the school
plays, but the odd thing about it is that they always get the part of "Grandma".
Joe Morgan of the Morgan and Son Contractors comes in lugging his tools. He
is ready to fix the stage so that the cast can get on with the rehearsal.
Here come the former Dorothy Harris and her four sons which have brown eyes.
Everyone is here at last. Oh no, here comes Bertie Small, late as usual.
She just couldn't give up her piano practice. She is now Jose Iturbi's chief
competitor.
Hours later everyone parted with fond farewells and promised that they would
meet again at the same time and same place in 1969.
