"ISAAC F. BRINKERHOFF, farmer and stock-grower, P. O. Granite Hill, was born on the farm where he now resides February 16, 1825, a son of James and Susan (Range) Brinkerhoff; the latter a native of this county and of German Descent. His father, grandfather (John Brinkerhoff) and great-grandfather were all born on the farm, which is now occupied by the seventh generation, and which formerly consisted of 640 acres, but which now numbers only 112. James and Susan Brinkerhoff’s family consisted of six children, of whom Isaac F. is the second. Our subject received a rudimentary education, and from his youth up has been engaged in agricultural pursuits. In 1846 he was united in marriage with Margaret, daughter of Nicholas Moritz, a farmer of German origin. Mr. and Mrs. Brinkerhoff have a family of five children, as follows: J. Frank (employed in the Government Mint, at Philadelphia), Mary Jane, Anna, Maggie and Fannie. The family are members of the Reformed Church, in which Mr. Brinkerhoff is elder. He has also served as school director. In politics he is a Democrat. "
