| Baker, John F. | John F. Baker, an aged resident of the vicinity of Mont Alto, who lived alone, was found dead at his home Wednesday evening from the inrimities of old age. Five weeks ago he suffered a broken rib and several bruises, which disabled him for a short time. He had much improved and was able to be around. When his son, John L. Baker, who resieds several miles east of Mont Alto, went to his home to visit him, he found him lying on the kitchen floor dead. He was in the 82nd year of his age. Mr. Baker was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lazarus Baker and was born and reared in the vicinity in which he died. He served during the civil war as a chaplain and during the battle of Gettysburg he was in the thickest of the fray, administering to the dying soldiers, and was himself severely wounded. At a G. A. R. meeting on Saturday he said that he would willingly go with the U. S. troops into Mexico. | Bushey, J. Charles | "J. Charles Bushey, 86, of Arendtsville, PA, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at his home. Born November 27, 1921 in Arendtsville, he was the son of the late J. Blaine and Anna (Deardorff) Bushey. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Geri (Baltzley) Bushey; daughter, Ann C. Harvey and husband, Gordon of Gettysburg; a son, Chris C. Bushey and wife, Kathy of Carlisle; grandchildren, Richard Harvey and wife, Shannon, Jill Bordatto and husband, Omar, Jenna and David Bushey; great-grandchildren, Emma and Alison Harvey, Jacob and Leah Bordatto; a brother, Blaine D. Bushey of Arendtsville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred C. Gordan and 3 brothers, John L., Warren C., and Norman F. Bushey. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 2 p.m., at the Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with the Revs. Jay Zimmerman and Charles Slaybaugh, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in the Greenmount Cemetery in Arendtsville. Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon, and Richard Harvey, Omar Bordatto, Eric Wilt, David Bushey and Cortlin Dillon. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
