| Walter, Henry | Henry Watler, a veteran fo the Civil War, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Watler, at Fairfield Station, on last Saturaday evening. | Walter, Robert A. | Robert A. Walter of Center Mills in the employ of the Gettysburg and Harrisburg railroad met his death on that road on last Wednesday afternoon. He was on the south bound train and got off the train at Brandtsville to help some trainmen at some work. He started to walk across the track and was struck by a fast moving freight train and hurled against the passenger train from which he had gotten off and rear of his head was crushed in. He was placed on an engine and hurried toward Carlisle but died on the way. The body was then removed to his home near Center Mills. For many years he attended to the pump at (middle of article is illegible) He was a member of the Reformed Congregation of Bender's Church. Interment at Biglerville. Services were conducted by the Knights of the Golden Eagle of Biglerville and leaves a wife and three sons, Carl the oldest 17, who assisted his father in his work and two younger sons respectively 8 and 2 years old. He is also survived by three brothers, H. ?. Walter, Clerk of the court of this place, John A. In the early part of his life, in the struggle with Great Britain, for our Independence, he joined the army, and stood the hard fought battles of his country. At the Battle of Brandywine, he received a severe wound, the effects of which he carried to the grave. Many attended, the following day, to pay the last tribute of respect to their departed favorite. | Williams, Charles | Charles Williams died at his home in Gettysburg shortly after 4 o'clock Friday afternoon after an illness of several months. He was aged 37 years and a few months. Mr. Williams was a carpenter by trade but for the last ten years had been employed at the Western Maryland freight station. | Wilson, Mrs. Martha | Communicated-- Died on Sabbath evening, the 10th instant, Mrs. Martha Wilson, wife of David Wilson, jr. of Hamiltonban township, and daughter of Mr. James Agnew, of this place, in the thirty-fifth year of her age. During a protracted and severe affliction she manifested that patience and resignation becoming the faith she had long professed and cherished. Towards the close of her struggles, though life was desired, yet the reigning request of her heart was "that she might sleep in Jesus." The morning of the resurrection will show whether HE is able to keep that which has thus been committed unto him.
