Slavery News Articles

THE SLAVE TRADE.
To the humane, the just, and the enlightened citizens of the United States, the following solemn facts are submitted. There have been imported from Africa, into the port of Charleston, the fallowing number of wretched beings, to lie subjected to the lath of their cruel task-masters,

in the year:
1804 - - 5,386
1805
- -
6,790
1806 - - 11,468
1807 - - 15,576

Total amount of human beings stolen from
their families, their homes and fire-sides, and imported as Slaves into the U. States, in the last four years, THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND TEN!!!

Who is he that prides himself upon the independence of his country, whose, cheek is not suffused with blushes, as he reads this disgraceful item in its Imports.
