Lacock, Abner --April 12, 1837 —In Beaver Co., Penn., Gen. Abner Lacock, In his 67th year.
He was born in Virginia, removed early in life to Pennsylvania, and was, from 1813 to 1819,
a member of the U. S. Senate.

John W. McCain
John W. McCain, 92, formerly of Beaver, died Wednesday afternoon,
Feb.16, 2000, in The Medical Center, Beaver, following an extended
illness.
Born September 12, 1907, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late
James W. and Kathryn Stamm McCain, he had been a resident of
Bridgewater and Beaver most of his life. He retired in 1972 as a
layerout with the American Bridge Co., Ambridge, after 44 years, and
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, where he served
as an Elder, Deacon and Trustee. A 1927 graduate of Rochester High
School, he also was a member of the St. James Lodge F & AM No. 457;
Eureka Royal Arch Chapter No. 157, Rochester; the Knights Templar,
Beaver Falls, and was a former member of the Beaver County Camera
Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Wilson McCain, in
1996; a son, William S. McCain, in 1953, and a brother and sister.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Gwendowlyn M. and Walter
Arbutina, Springfield, Pa.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m in the Noll
Funeral Home, 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be
conducted Saturday at 11 AM by his pastor, the Rev. Jeffrey A. Arnold.
Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made, if desired, to the Elevator fund
of the First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Ave., Beaver Pa 15009.

Frank Laporte
Frank, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Laporte,
who resides at No. 1137 First Avenue,
Beaver Falls, died last evening at six o'clock, of diphtheria.
