Mr. Gallaher was a son of James S. and Melissa Bowers Gallaher. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Stella McMillen Gallaher, three daughters; Mrs. Martin Carlson, Ludlow, Pa., Mrs. Julius Mi?koleze, Ellport; Ava, at home, a brother, Charles F. Gallaher of Ellport; a sister, Mrs. James Cowan of this city and three grandchildren.
The body is at the J. L. Porter and Son funeral home in Ellwood City, where friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The time of the service will be announced on Wednesday.
He was born in Ellport on April 14, 1904 to the late Henry and Nancy Gallagher Gallagher. He was a retired operating engineer.
Mr. Gallagher was a member of New Castle Lodge 642,F and AM.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie A. Porter to whom he had been married for 49 years; a son, Donn at home; a sister, Mrs. James (Jane) Cameron of New Castle; a half-brother, Jack Cowan of New Castle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Robert A. Myers Home for Fumerals, 208 N. Jefferson St.,
from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday at the funeral home conducted by George W. Henderson of Second United Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
W. J. Gallagher aged 59 years, and residing on Neshannock avenue died this morning at 8 o'clock at the New Castle hospital death following an illness of pneumonia.
He is survivedby one son, Thomos, of Camp Grant, Illinois, one daughter, Mrs. Nertha Huffacre, of Spring Valley and four brothers, M.C. Gallagher of this city, Smith Gallagher of Spring Valley James S. of Wurtemburg, Pa and L.W. of Shenango township.
