Patrick Howley
Killed by Falling Into a Cave: Patrick Howley, a well known resident of Cork Lane, met with sudden death on Sunday night [January 24, 1909]. Having occasion to visit a neighbor he took a short cut and owing to the dense fog he missed his way and fell into a mine cave hole. His body lay there for some time until the members of the family instituted a search for him, when his remains were found. His skull was fractured and several bones were broken.
