On Sunday, the 18th of April, in Lackawanna township, Luzerne county, Mr. John Atherton, aged about 80 years. He was one of the patriots of the Revolution, and accompanied Gen. Sullivan in
his expedition through that country, was one of the early settlers, and shared in the privations incident to the
first settlement of the country.
