Mrs. Catherine McDonald, widow of Michael McDonald, departed
this life at her home, No. 21 Laurel street, at 1 o’clock a.m. yesterday. Death followed a stroke of paralysis
sustained three weeks ago.
The deceased was 68 years of age and is survived by one son, William McDonald, and three daughters, Mrs. Patrick
McKenna, Mrs. James Coleman and Miss Rose McDonald, all of this city.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Ireland, but spent the greater part of her life in this county.
The funeral will take place from St. Joseph’s Catholic church at 9 a.m. on Friday. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10th, Mr Lawrence Miller, aged 86 years.
Mr. Miller was a native of New Jersey and in early life resided opposite to Easton, Pa., from thence he removed
to Bloom, Col. co., in the year 1800.In 1852, he purchased the estate on which he died, of the late William Tilghman,
in Loyalsock township, Lycoming county. His remains were interred at Williamsport.

Mowrer, aged about 30 years. The deceased had retired to rest in her usual health, which
was not good, and in the morning she was found in bed, a corpse.

Mrs. Jennie Murphy, wife of James J. Murphy, died Saturday night at 12:20 o’clock at
her home, 111 Mowery street, after a lingering illness. She was aged 54 years.
Mrs. Murphy had been ill since last November 10. She was admitted to the Geisinger Memorial Hospital for treatment
and discharged on January 12. Since that time she had been bedfast.
Mrs. Murphy spent her entire life in Danville.
She is survived by her husband, the following children, Rea, Kathryn, Thomas and James Jr., at home, Mrs. Alice
McDonald, Mrs. Phoebe Brady, this city, Mrs. James Coup, Milton and 13 grandchildren. Also surviving are the following
brothers and sisters, Gus Kocher, this city, Charles Kocher, Sunbury; Mrs. Lettie Slathower, Lemoyne; Mrs. Mary
Springer, Waterport, N.Y.; Mrs. Stella Platt, Williamsport.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

The funeral of Mrs. James J. Murphy, 111 Mowery street, whose death occurred at her home Saturday evening was held
from the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. A.J. Hoenninger, of St. Joseph’s Parish officiating. Burial
was made in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Michael McDonald, Michael Ryan, Patrick Finley, John Dalton, Thomas Martin and Michael McKenna.
Among those attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Coup and family, Milton; Mrs. L.M. Slathower, Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Slathower, Mae Gates, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Elby, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Shathower, Patricia An Eby, Le Moines;
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kocher, Sunbury; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Murphy and family, Hanover; William Murphy, John Murphy,
Hoover Murphy, Riverside; Mrs. Mary Heller, Mt. Carmel and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meet, Bear Gap.
