Danville Intelligencer, Danville, Friday, October 24, 1851
At the residence of George Sandle, in West Hemlock, suddenly, on Tuesday evening last,
John Nein, aged about 50 years.
The deceased was in Danville, on Tuesday evening, purchased some groceries at Mr. Robert Moore’s Store, started for home, and stopped at Mr. Sandle’s. When he sat down by the stove he remarked that he was almost frozen, and soon fell off the chair, and expired. The deceased had no family but lived with his mother, about a half mile from where he died. The sale of sugar to the deceased was the last entry on the books of Mr. Moore, in the evening, and the next entry was for his shroud, the following morning. “In the midst of life, we are in death.”

Danville Intelligencer, Danville, Friday, August 19, 1853
In this place, on the 14th of July 1853,
Mrs. Ann Nevius, wife of Mr. J.L. Nevius, aged 58 years.
The deceased was amember of the Presbyterian Church. She was afflicted for several years previous to her death, but her religious faith remained with her, and it is a source of comfort to her friends to feel that in her death, she was exchanged the pains and infirmities of nature, for a land of rest—of happiness beyond the grave.
