Frank Carmichael; these children -- Rosalie, Georgia, Mary, James, John, Betty and Bernice Christine; one sister, Mrs. Orpha Marino, Bolivar, and her parents of Bolivar R.D. 1. Friends received at the home of her uncle, Don R. Griffith of West Bolivar after 7 p.m. Monday. Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in Isabel Cemetery, Indiana County. R.S. Clawson, Albert B.

Nov. 14, 1982

Alfred Bruce Clawson 83 of Bolivar died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1982 in Lee Hospital Johnstown. He was born Jan. 4, 1899 in Indiana, PA. a son of the late Harry and Minnie (Lute) Clawson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Miller) Clawson, and five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Showman of Palmyra N.Y. and Mrs. Doris Barron of Shiremanstown, and three sons Robert of Hobart, Ind. Raymond of Fairless Hills and Bruce A. "J.R." of Bolivar; also 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at the Edward J Speidel Funeral Home, Bolivar with the Rev. R.K. Keiper officiating. Burial was in Armagh Cemetery.


Clawson, Raymond M.

RAYMOND M. CLAWSON 66 Fairless Hills formerly of Bolivar died Tuesday April 20, 1993 at Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol Twp. The son of Alford B. and Florence Miller Clawson he was born March 2, 1927 in Bolivar. Mr. Clawson was a member of the Fairless Hills United Methodist Church, and a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement in 1984 he had been employed for 31 years as a supervisor in the metallurgy division of U.S. Steel, Levittown. He was also a part-time driver for Lions Tours, Levittown. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou McCachren; one son, Douglas R, Fairless Hills; two brothers and two sisters; Robert, Gary, Ind.; Bruce, Bolivar; Grace Showman, Palmyra, N. Y. ; and Doris Barron, Shiremanstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today in the James J Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends will also be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Kenneth A Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Craig C Kerewich officiating. Interment will follow in Armagh Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veterans' Organizations. Clawson, Roy Willard

Roy Willard Clawson Sr. 80 of Scottdale went home to be with god on Friday Dec. 6, 2002 in Latrobe Area hospital. Born May 17 1922 in Bolivar he was a son of the late Ralph and Jennie (Miller) Clawson. He was a member of Everson Evangelical Church; Bolivar United Methodist Church; Youngwood and East Huntingdon Sportsmen Clubs; and Robertshaw Retirees Club. Prior to his retirement he was a machinist for Robertshaw Controls, New Stanton, A Veteran of World War II Roy earned the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He received a Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a graduate of Bolivar high School. Class of 1940. He will be sadly missed by his family; a son Roy ‘Chip’ Clawson of Scottdale; two daughters, Kathie R Clawson of Latrobe and Amie Sue Clawson of Scottdale, four grandchildren, Kelly Cunningham, Jason Leeper and wife Tamara, Joshua Leeper and wife Kara and Michael Clawson; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Seth Leeper; two brothers, John Clawson of Ligonier and James Clawson and wife, Wanda of Bolivar; and a sister, Anna Jane Jones of Robinson in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma Momcelovic Clawson in 1949; his second wife Meredith June Whaley Clawson in 1993 and two brothers, Charles Hillis and William Clawson. Friends will be received at the JAY B PETERSON FUNERAL HOME, Depot and Fifth Streets, Youngwood, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time his funeral service will begin with the Rev. William Z. Clawson 78 of Bolivar died Tuesday Jan. 22, 2002 at UPMC Lee Regional, Johnstown. He was born Jan.6, 1924 in Bolivar, son of Ralph and Jenny Miller Clawson. He retired in 1977 from Bethlehem Steel, where he had been an inspector for 30 years. He served with the U.S. navy in World War II. He was a member of Bolivar United Methodist Church, Acacia Lodge 355 F&AM, Robinson VFW 9310, and Bolivar American Legion 128. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carrie Dean hall Clawson; two sons, Dennis W. Clawson (and his wife Carol) of Greensburg and William A Clawson (and his wife Ginny) of Penn run; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; three brothers, James Clawson of Bolivar, john Clawson of Ligonier, and Roy Clawson of Scottdale; a sister Anna Jane Jones of Robinson and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received today (Thursday) from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at J Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Bolivar where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. R. Kenneth Keiper officiating. Acacia Lodge 355 F&AM will hold a service in the funeral chapel at 7:30 p.m. this evening. Burial will be in Bolivar Westview Cemetery. CLINE - E. Marie 86, Bolivar died Saturday Aug. 23, 1997 at Bethlen Home, Ligonier. Born July 14, 1911 in Bolivar daughter of the late Everett and Irene Muir. Preceded in death by husband, John Garfield Cline, in 1979; three sons; Paul Everett, William and Wayne Saxton; grandson Edwin Saxton; granddaughter Jaclyn Jo Lupacchini and sister Lillian Wakefield. Survived by daughters; Mrs. Albert (Beverly ‘Dink’) Lupacchini and Mrs. Norman (Lois) Robinson, both of Bolivar; 12 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren; and sister Alice Nixon, Bolivar. Marie was a member of the Bolivar United Presbyterian Church and the Bolivar American Legion 128 Ladies Auxiliary. Helen M. Cowen, 85, formerly of Derry Lane, Blairsville, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Beacon Manor, White Township. The daughter of Harry and Margaret Newhouse was born Jan. 8, 1916 in Cokeville. Mrs. Cowen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 166 and FOE Auxiliary 1488, both of Blairsville. She was employed as a seamstress at the former Fours Co., Blairsville. Surviving are a sister, Sarah Wilson, Freedom, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. "Jack" Cowen, on Dec. 30, 1979; two sisters, Violet Iscrupe and Florence Yoh; a brother, Ralph H. Newhouse; and her parents. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home in Blairsville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.

JOHN L. (JACK) COWEN, 66, Blairsville RD 3 (Derry Lane) died Sunday, Dec. 30, 1979, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. A son of John and Sara (Harvey) Cowen, he was born Jan. 10, 1913, in Gray Station. Mr Cowen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Blairsville. He was a retired employee of Torrance State Hospital, a member of the Acacia Lodge 335, F&AM, Blairsville; the Coudersport Consistory; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; Indiana County Shrine Club; IOOF, Blairsville: BPOE 406, Blairsville; FOE 1488, Blairsville; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Derry; and the Derry Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen (Newhouse) Cowen; the following sisters: Mrs. Naomi (Sis) Riffle, Altoona; Mrs. Sally Allen, Mountain Home, Ark.; Mrs. Geraldine Oravec, Latrobe; Mrs. Alberta Neiman, Blairsville Mrs. Barbara Rummell, Smicksburg; two brothers; Eugene and William, both of Blairsville RD3; his stepmother, Mrs. Betty Cowen, Blairsville RD 3; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Roger D. Petersen officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.


Cunningham, Marie N.

CUNNINGHAM - Marie N. 77 of Robinson died Saturday June 25, 2005 in UPMC Lee Regional. She was born Friday Jan. 6, 1928 in Bolivar, a daughter of the late Paul and Nancy Lanzorotta LaMantia. During World War II, Marie worked for a tool and die plant in Latrobe, and later made weld rods at the former Bonavera's Weld Shop in Bolivar. She was employed by the former Penn Traffic Co. in Johnstown from 1961 until 1986. She had also owned and operated the former Marie's Grocery in Robinson. During her retirement years, she was instrumental in tracing the Cunningham family's history and genealogy. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Cunningham; a daughter, Nancy Wilson, and her husband, Russell of Paoli, Pa.; a son Robert D Cunningham of Robinson; a granddaughter, Erin Johnson; a sister, Margaret Saxton of Bolivar; and three brothers; Paul LaMantia of New Florence and Joseph and Samuel LaMantia both of Bolivar. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy LaMantia and two brothers, Anthony and Andrew LaMantia. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Bolivar, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Blairsville Cemetery.
