Charles J Yeager 64 of Bolivar RD 1 died Friday July 6, 1984 at Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Sept. 13, 1919 in Fairfield Twp. a son of the late Jacob and Jane (Shank) Yeager. He was an elder of First Church of Christ, West Bolivar. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward. He is survived by wife Nora (Silk) Yeager; five children, Gregory of Elwood City; Chris of Bolivar RD 1; Kevin of Elkins, W. Va.; Wendy (Mrs. Jeffrey) Blankenbicker and Heidi (Mrs. Bruce) McChesney both of New Florence RD 1; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Deemer of Bolivar, Mrs. Nellie Saunders of Latrobe and Mrs. Dorothy Biss of Bolivar RD 1; and four brothers, Thomas of New Florence, George of Tucson, Ariz. Samuel of New Florence RD 2 and Leonard of Bolivar RD 1. Funeral services were held Monday at First Church of Christ, West Bolivar with evangelist Kevin Yeager and Charles Owston officiating. Arrangements by Edward J. Speidel Funeral Home, Bolivar. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.

YEAGER - John B ., 72, Stahlstown RD 1 formerly of Bolivar died Jan. 14, 1978 at Memorial Hospital. Born June 12, 1905 in Bolivar, son of late James and Ellen (Holby) Yeager. Preceded in death by wife, former Margaret Frain, 1957; brothers, George and Paul; and daughter Dorothy Lorraine. Survived by these children; Mrs. Ethel Baird and Mrs. Wilma Baird both of New Florence RD 1; and Bart , Stahlstown RD 1 ; also nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. Brother of Wilson and Edward both of Erie; Gilbert and Mrs. Beatrice Livengood both of Blairsville; and Mrs. Ellen Robinson, Bolivar. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday the Rev. Harold Himes. Interment Westview Cemetery.

Leonard E. Yeager, 72, of Bolivar, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born March 25, 1933, in Bolivar, he was a son of late Jacob and Jane (Shank) Yeager. He was a member of First Church of Christ, West Bolivar. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse, having worked there from 1965-1985, and had worked for I.C.I. from 1985-1997. He was a U.S Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. (Crusan) Yeager; children, Judy L., Bolivar, Joey L., Wilpen, Belinda M. Clark, Bolivar, Jamie L., Seward, and Yvonne A. McMullen, Bolivar; grandchildren, Scott A. Biss, Union, Ky., Cassidy J. Biss, Blairsville, Amber D. Biss, Bolivar, and Logan J. and Mackenzi J. Yeager, both of Seward; brothers, George, Tucson, Ariz., and Samuel, New Florence; and sister, Dorothy Biss, Bolivar. Also preceded in death by sisters, Bessie Yeager, Elizabeth and Nellie Deemer; and brothers, David, Charles, Thomas and John. Funeral services were held Thursday in First Church of Christ, West Bolivar, with Evangelist Jack Prentice and Chris Yeager co-officiating. Interment was in Fort Palmer Cemetery. Military rites by local veteran's organization.

Mildred "Mootz" Yeager, 72, of Bolivar, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, in the Indiana Medical Center. She was born May 20, 1933, in Fairfield Township, a daughter of the late Paul S. and Elsie Seigh Yeager. Mootz and her sister, Ash, owned and operated M&A Flower Shop in Bolivar from 1976 until their retirement in 1996. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the First Church of Christ in Bolivar. She is survived by her sister, Ash, Bolivar; several nieces and nephews, also a close friend, Donald Mock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth and Kathryn Henderson and Virginia Moore; and three brothers, Paul Sherman, William Robert and Davis Lee Yeager. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Bolivar First Church of Christ with Evangelist Jack C. Prentice officiating. Interment followed in Fort Palmer Cemetery, Bolivar.

Charter member of Bolivar, Volunteer Fire Company, Friends received after 10 a.m. Monday in Featherson Funeral Home where service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Donald Lammers. Interment, Fort Palmer Cemetery.

YEAGER - Ronald Lee, 13, New Florence RD 1 dead on arrival evening of July 20, 1965 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born Sept. 19, 1951 in Bolivar, son of Thomas D. and Leona A. (Boring) Yeager. Survived by parents; sisters Jacqueline, Debra and Cindy, and brother, Thomas Roy all at home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Jane Yeager, West Bolivar, and maternal grandfather, Roy Boring, New Florence RD 2. Was 9th grade student at Laurel Valley Joint High School. Friends received at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence. Service at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Church of Christ, West Bolivar, the Rev. Richard Lear. Interment Germany Lutheran Cemetery.

Charles G. 'Slim' Zimmerman Jr. 75 of RD 1 Bolivar died Wednesday Aug. 16, 2000 at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 7, 1925 in Westmoreland County, the son of the late Charles G. and Lula Brant Zimmerman. Prior to retirement he worked for Ligonier Valley School District as a custodian for over 25 years. He was a member of the Robinson VFW and the Bolivar American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II, Serving in the Navy. Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife of 45 years, Della M. Muir Zimmerman; a daughter, Mrs. James (Marie) Boyle, Robinson; two sons, George (and his wife Barbara) Zimmerman, New Florence and William J. at Home; Also three grandchildren, Sheila, Jolene and Christopher, three sisters, Jane Yonkie, Ohio, Wilma Roadhaver, Uniontown and Mrs. Samuel (Doris) Newman, Uniontown; a brother, William(and his wife Selina) Brant, Uniontown. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Services were held Saturday in McCracken Funeral Chapel, Bolivar with Rev. Allyn K. Giuffre officiating. Interment was in Fort Palmer Cemetery, Bolivar. Military services were held Friday in the Funeral Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to the Tri-Community Ambulance Association, 3rd and Market St. Bolivar, PA. 15923.

Edward J. Zurick 57, of 1927 Forbes Ave. Pittsburgh, formerly of Wilpen, died Saturday July 19, 1980 in Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Nov. 17, 1922 in Wilpen, a son of the late John and Anna Kovatch Zurick. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran and was a retired Barber. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert in 1973 and Anthony in 1979. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. D. Jerry (Marcella) Elam of Allison Park; nine sisters, Mrs. George (Betty) Oswald and Mrs. Teresa Polasky, both of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Gilbert (Agnes) Short of Latrobe, Mrs. (Mary) Fluxman of New York, Mrs. Anna Mae Mellett of Library, Mrs. Robert (Eva Jane) Dale of Sewickley, Mrs. Rose Marie LaRue of Johnstown, and Mrs. Donald (Joanna) Harr and Mrs. Michael (Susanna) Piepock, both of Ligonier, three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Zurick--Friends of Edward J. Zurick 57, of 1927 Forbes Ave. Pittsburgh, formerly of Wilpen, who died Saturday July 19, 1980 will be received at the Howards McCabe Funeral Home, 244, West Main St. Ligonier, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wilpen, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. Members of Ligonier VFW will meet in the funeral home Monday at 7:30 to conduct services.
