            I, Arthur V. Adams, a naturalized and loyal citizen of the United States, do hereby apply to the Department of State at Washington for a passport for myself.
            In support of the above application, I do solemnly swear that I was born at Volo in Greece on or about the 17 th day of March, 1850; that I emigrated to the United States, sailing on board the Philadelphia, from Antwerp, on or about the 15 th day of February, 1871; that I resided 18 years, uninterruptedly, in the United States, from Feb. 15 date at Newport Rhode Island, that I was naturalized as a citizen of the United States before the District Court of the United States at Boston, Massachusetts, on the 17 day of February, 1883, as shown by the accompanying Certificate of Naturalization; that I am the identical person described ins aid Certificate; that I am domiciled in the United States, my permanent residence being at Newport, in the State of Rhode Island where I follow the occupation of Fisherman; that I am about to go abroad temporarily; and that I intend to return of the United States within one year, with the purpose of residing and performing the duties of citizenship therein.
            Further, I solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion: So help me God.
