Geo. T. Lamphear, Railroad Man, Dead.
He Was Twice Senator From South Kingstown.

George T. LAMPHEAR, aged 63, superintendent of the Narragansett Pier Branch Railroad, died at South Kingston today of paralysis. The deceased was one of the best known railroad men in this section of New England. For over 30 years he had been connected with the Narragansett Road. He was a civil engineer and had charge of the construction of the Wood River and Pawtuxet Valley branches of the railroad in addition to the Narragansett Pier branch. He served as Senator from So. Kingstown for two terms and was president of the Town Council of South Kingstown. During the civil war he served in the 9th Reg. R. I. V. He is survived by a wife and five children.
