Full name: BENJAMIN FRANKLIN BELL. Present post office: Ethelville, Ala., Was born on 16 Feb. 1845 at Abeville (sic) in the county of Abeville in the state of SC.; first entered the service as private on 17 June 1861 at Carrollton, Ala. in the Co. H, 11th Ala. and continued until surrender


WALKER COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS

Full Name:  PARNELL, JOHN ALLEN  Present post office address: Jasper, Ala.  Was born on Oct. 11, 1843 at 10 miles from Abbeville in the Abbeville District in the state of South Carolina; first entered the service as private on February 22, 1861 at Oxford, Ala. (for 12 months) in the Avery’s Company of Sharp Shooters and continued until the term of 12 months expired.  Re-enlisted as private on Feb 1862 at Montgomery, Ala. in the Company F – 31st Ala. Infantry and continued until captured at Nashville, Tenn. Dec. 16, 1864 – Discharged from Camp Chase Ohio last of July 1865

Full Name;  WAIT, RICHARD HAMPTON.  Present post office address: Creel, Ala.  Was born on May 10, 1841 near Abbeville, Ala. in the county of Abbeville District in the state of South Carolina; first entered the service as private in May 1861 at Pickensville, Pickens County, Ala., in the Company I (Capt Trawick) 11th Ala. Infantry and continued until severally wounded at Sharpsburg, Maryland Sept 17 1862 – was never mustered out but given an unlimited furlough (still badly crippled)

WINSTON COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS

Stover, Jerimiah Vandiver Starks; Present Post Office address; Jasper, Alabama; born 8 May 1835 at Abbyville in Abbyville (sic) District, South Carolina; first entered the service as Private on 1 Nov 1862 at Big Shanty, Georgia in 32nd Georgia Regiment, Company A and continued until 1 Nov 1863, when I was discharged at Decatur, Georgia, re-enlisted as Co-script office for Pickens County, Georgia in May 1864 at Jasper, Alabama and continued until close of war . I was discharged. No papers.

MARION COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS

Full Name: EVANS, JAMES M., Present post office address: Wiginton, Ala. was born on 18th Oct. 1828 in the county of Abaville (sic) in the state of South Carolina; first entered the service as private on Apr 1861 at Pacalallga Ga., in the Gists Reg. Inf. Co. F. and continued until close of war.  Parolled 1865.

Full Name:  SCOTT, JAMES H., Present post office address: Bear Creek, Ala. was born on 4th Oct. 1839 in the district of Abaville (sic), in the state of South Carolina; first entered the service as private on Feby 1862 at Covington, Ga., in the 35th Ga. Inft. Co. B, and continued until imprisoned at Petersburg, Va. Was released from prison at close of war.
