WINSTON COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS
Smothers, John Alexander; Present Post Office address; Addison, Alabama; born 18 Mar 1836 at Mt. Crogin in Chesterfield County, South Carolina; first entered the service as private on 1 Dec 1861 at Mt Crogin, South Carolina in 26th South Carolina Regiment Infantry, Company A and continued until 25 Mar 1865 when I was wounded at Petersburg, Virginia after which I was carried to Fortress Monroe, Virginia where I remained in hospital until 27 Jun 1865, when I was permitted to return home. No papers. (18 Mar 1836--8 Feb 1920; PVT. Co. A 26th SC Inf. CSA; buried Fairview No 2 Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.)

MARION COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS
Full Name: LEE, SAMUEL. Present post office address: Haleyville, Ala. was born on 29th July 1840 in the county of Chesterfield in the state of South Carolina; first entered the service as private on Dec 1861 at Chesterfield, S. C. in the 4th S. C. Cav. Co. A and continued until close of war and went home.  No paroll or discharge.

LAMAR COUNTY ALABAMA 1907 CONFEDERATE CENSUS
Full Name:  Herbert Anley EDGEWORTH,; Present Post Office address: Millport, Ala; Was born on  Dec 24, 1844 in the county of Chesterfield in the state of  S.C; first entered the service as Private on July 10, 1861 at Tuscaloosa, Ala in Co G 38 Tenn and continued until captured and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio - exchanged Feb 12 1865.
