Kollock, Cheraw, S.C.,
son of Oliver Hawes Kollock and Sarah Hames Wilson, was born Dec 7th,
1824, in Marlborough co., near Cheraw, S.C. He was prepared for college at
the Cheraw acad., and graduated at Brown univ. in 1845, studing medicine
at the univ. of Pa., from which he graduated in 1848, subsequently
pursuing his professional studies in Paris, France. He has performed all
the capital operations in surgery, including lithotomy, ovariotomy,
extraction of cataract, and for urinary fistula. His specialty is surgery
and obstetrics. He is a member of the Pee Dee med. asso., of which he is
vice-president, and of the Cheraw lyceum, of which he has been president;
and is a corresponding member of the Boston soc. of nat. history. His
medical writings comprise the....He is the med. examiner of several life
insurance companies. He married, Oct. 9th, 1857, Mary Henrietta, youngest
daughter of Charles B. Shaw, of Boston.
