Note issued under an act to relieve the state of
South Carolina for all liability for its guaranty of the bonds of
the Blue Ridge Railroad Company, by providing for the securing and
destruction of the same, March 2nd, 1872. Back side of the Ten Dollar

Co. in 1873, this currency was good for rail travel at the
rate of $1 for 25 miles! Issued by the State during the Civil War because of
lack of coinage in circulation these include three different
denominations: 10 cents, 15 cents, and 75 cents. They have a blue font on the front, and
red on the back. 1873 Fare Ticket, $2 The Charlotte, Columbia &
Augusta Railroad Company, Columbia, South Carolina. This note has 2
train vignettes and a dog vignette.
