W9132-BLACKMAN LIGON AND ELIZABETH - VIRGINIA SERVICE

1. Declaration made November 14, 1818 in Greensville District, South Carolina.

2. States he was son of Captain Joseph Ligon and enlisted in Halifax County, Virginia February 12, 1776.

3. February 1781, wounded at Battle of Guilford Courthouse, N. C. married circa 1780 Elizabeth, who was born April 28, 1753; was allowed pension as his widow in 1841 and died October 15, 1842

4. In 1821 soldier referred to his children as (1) John T. age 29 - (2) Elizabeth, age 25 - (3) Blackman, age 22 - and grandchildren James B. Roseman (or Rosemond?) age 9 and Joseph Ligon, age 4 - (4) his eldest child was a girl, name not stated, and (5) his second was Mrs. Nancy T. Moore (or Moone?) who was born November 1, 1784. She and her brother, John T. Ligon were living in Greensville District, S. C. in 1841.
