South Carolina In the name of God Amen, I George Goggans of Newberry District the State & District aforesaid being sick of body but in sound & perfect memory & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die & after death to come to judgement. I therefore recommend my body to the Earth & Soul to God who gave it & as to my temporal estate which it hath pleased God to bestow on me I give & dispose of as followeth------------------------------ Viz, First of all my will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid out of my estate, Secondly, my will is that what of my children that has not received as much of my estate as those that have married & left me that their parts shall be made up out of my estate. 3ly My will is that my son James Goggans shall have all that part of my land lying over the branch where his field is joining Daniel Butler & c. 4thly My will is that the remaining part of my estate both real & personal be sold & divided among my nine children allowing Bettey Anderson & Jefiah Goggans one equal part with the rest of my children. 5thly My will is that my land be sold at three installments/ I also constitute & appoint my loving son James Goggans & my loving son Daniel Goggans to be my lawful executors to act for me after my decease in all things according to law: This being my last will & testament-- Revoking & disannuling all other former wills & c. Ratifying and confirming this alone; In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15th day of January 1803. George Goggans Witnefses present Recorded in Will Book "F" Page
