Morris Chapel was organized in 1887 in Chappells with thirty-three members. The first minister was Rev. T. B. Craig; the original elders were George t. Reid and William R. Smith and the first deacon was John R. Scurry. The church disbanded in 1930.

Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church - This is a picture (courtesy of Donna Brummett) taken October 2008. Not sure if this is the same church as stated above, or a new church.  No further information was found on this church.
