Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church
Peak, Newberry County, South Carolina


Mt. Hermon is located in Peak, being organized in 1889 with thirty-three members, by Dr. J. B. Fox of the Newberry College faculty. The first church was built in 1890. The church was in the Bethel parish until 1926.

The second church was erected in 1958 on land donated by Mrs. G. A. Swygert. Dr. C. H. Pinner, Jr., gave the architest's fee. In 1964 a parish was formed with Mt. Olivet in Chapin. n

The church supports a cemetery near by.
