Lower Mt. Olive A.M.E.Church was founded in Prosperity, SC in
1881. The church supposedly
began when a few dedicated workers of
Christ joined together to praise
God under a brush arbor in front of an
old cedar tree that still stands
on the church grounds today. The
original trustees were Washington
Dominick, Robert Hall, Samuel Senison,
and Adem Phew. Over the
years many improvement have been made to
enhance the church
surroundings. Under the leadership of the Rev.
Frank Madison Moses, a
multipurpose building was constructed.
