She was survived by her husband of 22 years, Richard Matthew; sister, Doris (John) Moran; stepchildren, Richard Lee, Anthony (Joanne), Renee, and four grandchildren, Sydney, Wyatt, Dane and Daniel. Keith, Christian and Riley Keith, infant children of M. Chris and Tasha Crumpton Keith, died Oct. 23, 2005 at the Richland Palmetto Hospital. Kerwin, Mary Barrineau 89 years old, formerly of North Augusta and Allendale, widow of Gilbert J. Kerwin, died Aug. 25, 2006 at Springfield Place in Newberry. Mrs. Kerwin was born on June 19, 1917 in Andrews, the daughter of the late Wade Hampton and Mary Ellen Cooper Barrineau. Mrs. Kerwin was survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and W. A. “Al” Harvey of Newberry and a son, and daughter-in-law, Bert and Becky Kerwin of Allendale; six grandchildren, Shellie Cochcroft, Jason (Marci) Harvey, Scott (Missy) Kerwin, Gigi Kerwin, Try Kerwin, and Stacey (Bruce) Smith. Mr. Kesler was born on April 23, 1938 in Newberry County, a son of the late Henry Adam and Dessie Kilgore Kesler. Mr. Kesler was survived by his wife, Vivian Knight Kesler of the home; a daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Keith Brown of Newberry; a sister, Ann K. Senn of Newberry; four brothers, John Kesler, Ned Kesler and Fred Kesler, all of Newberry, and Joe Kesler of Prosperity; a grandson, Kody Brown of Newberry. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel C. Kibler, Agnes Ringer 96 years old, of  Newberry, the widow of W. David Kibler, Sr., died Jan. 14, 2004 at White Oak Manor. Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Lee Davis and Sallie Reighley Ringer. She was survived by sons, William D. Kibler, Jr., and wife, Kay, and Gerald L. Kibler, all of Newberry; and two  grandchildren, Sharon Derrick and Keith D. Kibler. Burial was at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.  McSwain-Evans Funeral Home was in charge. Kibler, Gerald Leon 72 years old, of Newberry, widower of Crissie Anne Enlow Kibler, died Feb. 15, 2006 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Whitmire, he was a son of the late William David Kibler, Sr. and Agnes Ringer Kibler. He was a member and organizer of the St. Philip’s Fire Department and was appointed an honorary fireman. He was an Army veteran and served in the S.C. National Guard. Surviving were a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Billy Derrick of Prosperity; grandchildren, Brea Derrick and Haley Derrick both of Prosperity; a brother, William D. Kibler, Juanita Connelly 82 years old, of Prosperity, widow of James Everett Kibler, Sr. died Oct. 1, 2004. Mrs. Kibler was born Nov. 24, 1921, at Prosperity to Tira Tiller and Rosa Belle Bedenbaugh Connelly. Surviving were a son, Dr. James Everett Kibler of Athens, Ga. and Newberry County; a brother, Eldred Connelly of Prosperity. Mrs. Kibler was predeceased by brothers, Carroll B. Connelly and James Ira Connelly and a sister, Eula Mae Connelly Riser. Kibler and the late Ida Johnson Kibler. Surviving were his wife, Mandy Lee Kibler, of the home; four sons, Robert L. Kibler Jr. of Prosperity, Wayne L. Kibler, Willie James Kibler (Geraldine) and James H. Kibler (Linda), all of Newberry; one adopted son, Maurice Austin of Newberry; two daughters, Judy Kinard (Herman) and Tina Mare Kibler (Terry) of Prosperity; brother, Lee Kibler Jr. (Evelyn) of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Janie Mae Kibler of Washington, D.C. and Sarah Boyd of Norristown, Pa. Kid, Vivian Beatrice age 86 years old, of  Whitmire, died Aug. 28, 2004 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Newberry. Ms. Kidd was born in Whitmire, Aug. 6, 1918, a daughter of the late Henry Benjamin and Bessie Bailey Kidd. Ms. Kidd is the last surviving of 12 children in her family. She was survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a niece, Mrs. Daisy Bullard of Whitmire with whom she made her home with for the past five years. Burial was in the Whitmire Cemetery. The S.R. Kinard, D. Ralph 83 years old, of White Oak Manor formerly of Jollystreet Road, Newberry, widower of Vera K. Kinard, died May 10, 2005 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 31, 1921 in Prosperity, a son of the late J. Alonzo and Belle Livingston Kinard. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve E. and Linda M. Kinard of Newberry; three grandchildren and spouse, Belinda K. (Johnny) Trammell of Newberry, Elizabeth C. Able and Edward B. Able, both of Laurens; and one great grandson, John Steven Trammell of Newberry. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Kinard Able. He was the last member of his immediate family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Kathy Jean Gilliam-Bergen and her son-in-law, D. O’Merle Gilliam. King, Sara Elizabeth age 93 years old, formerly of Whitmire, died Oct. 14, 2004 in Springfield Place in Newberry. Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Mamie Eison Stone. Surviving were two sons, Donald J. Huneycutt of Morehead City, N. C. and Robert M. King of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Robert Allen Huneycutt of Durham, N.C., Donna Jean Carter of Newport, Va., Anne King Murray and Nancy King Templeton, both of Rock Hill; and 11 great-grandchildren. Kitchen, Mary Inez King 78 years old, formerly of Kinards, widow of Lester Kitchen, died July 24, 2005 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Kitchen was born on May 10, 1927 in Joanna, a daughter of the late William and Mittie Bedenbaugh King. She was survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Freddie Wingard of Newberry; a son and daughter-in-law, Donnie L. and Sandra J. Kitchen of Joanna; three sisters, Betty Goff of Myrtle Beach, Evelyn Campbell of Greenville, and Lula Bell Madden of Ware Shoals; three grandchildren and spouses, Shane and Amy Kitchen of Little Mountain, Lee Anne and Mike Egleston of Newberry, and Todd and Hollie Wingard of Joanna; six great grandchildren, Derek Vereen, Nikki Wingard, Benji Wingard, Lynzi Wingard, Sophie Egleston and Henry Egleston. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Wingard; three sisters, Ellen Madden, Daisy Hanson and Verna Lee Nelson; and a brother, Thomas King. Interment was in Bush River Baptist Church Cemetery. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he participated in mustard and lewsite gas experiments near the end of WWII. Surviving were his wife of 14 years, Cynthia Lake Koethe; daughters, Candice (John) Croteau of Maui, Hawaii, and Diane (Francis) Polito of N.J.; grandchildren, Catalina Crouteau, Cooper Croteau and Pearl Polito. He served his country in the US Army. Mr. Koon was survived by his mother; his wife, Linda Epting Koon of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Lynn and Steven Ehney of Greenwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald David Koon, Jr. and Denise Koon of Little Mountain; a brother and sister-in-law, Barney R. and Joann Koon of Gaston; and three grandchildren, Jon-Drayton and Collin Ehney and Madelyn Koon. Koon; a sister, Lessie Koon Long; a brother, Eric C. Koon, all of Pomaria; grandchildren and spouses, Terry and Sallie Koon of Chapin, and Michael and Karen Rumfelt of Pomaria; and great-grandchildren, Rebekah Koon, Zachary Koon and Stephen Rumfelt. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Oxner Koon who died on Oct. 15, 1980, and by two brothers, Rupert E. Koon and Eldridge B. Koon. Interment was in Pomaria Cemetery. Kunkle, Cleo Dawkins 85 years old, of Prosperity, widow of the late Ira Elmer Kunkle, died June 12, 2004, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
