He was survived by his wife, Sherry Southern Taylor; a son, John Taylor Jr. of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Teresa Dean and son-in-law, Jeff Dean of Newberry; a sister, Faye Hollaway of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Joel, Casey, and Corey Dean all of Newberry and Ashlye and Amber Taylor and Tommy Ansell all of Bradenton, Fla.; great-grandchild, Bentley Dean. Thomasson, Fred W. 72, husband of Mrs. Brenda Thomasson, died July 20, 2012, at his residence. In addition to his wife he was survived by three sons Perry Thomasson (Sherry) Edgefield, Rusty Thomasson (Peggy) North Augusta, and Craig Thomasson Clarks Hill. Additional survivors sisters Dorothy Gibson (Hoyt) of Saluda, Sybel Bowers (Jimmie) of Silverstreet, and Shirley McRacken of Prosperity. He was predeceased by his brother Joe Willie Thomasson. Elkins, was born Nov. 1, 1955, in Newberry County and died July 1, 2012, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia. Surviving were her mother, Mrs. Frances Thompson Elkins of Newberry; her fiance, Wayne Gibson of Newberry; son, Shunnon Glenn (Monica) of Irmo; daughter, Lakesha Thompson of Newberry; four stepsons, Andrea Gibson, Wayne Gibson Jr., Jarius Gibson and Jonathan Gibson, all of Ridge Springs; a stepdaughter, Kizzie Jonson (Vakari) of North Augusta; eight grandchildren, including Fantayshia Lindsay (reared in the home) and grandson, Martinez DaQuuin Livingston; two brothers, James Elkins Jr. and Curtis Elikns of Newberry; five sisters, Connie Thompson of Dumfries, Va.,Stella Thompson, Ruby Davis (Michael), Dorothy Rutherford (Kelvin) and Glenda Elkins, all of Newberry; a devoted cousin, James (June) Wadsworth and two very devoted friends, Sandra Jones and Tommie Garrett. Warren, H. Furman “Cherry” 92, died Nov. 3, 2012, at White Oak Manor. Born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Newberry, he was a son of the late George W. and Hattie Padgett Warren. He lived in Newberry until marrying his wife the late Mary Ruth Allen Warren Warren at which time he moved to Pomaria. He was a World War II veteran having served a four year tour of duty in the Navy. He was survived by his stepchildren, Ann W. Smith and husband, John and Richie Warren and wife, Toni; step-grandchildren, Joey Smith and his fiancé, Karen Lindler and her daughter, Megan, Shannon S. Wesson, James Oliver Sr., 91, of Davidson, N.C. died March 4, 2012, at his residence. Born May 11, 1920, in Newberry, he was a son of the late George Washington Wesson and Mellie Thomas Wesson. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran 1939 to 1945 serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Burial was at Sharon Memorial Park. Surviving were his sons James O. She is survived by her mother of Newberry; a daughter, Cindy Hallford of Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Ray Iwata of Los Angeles, Calif.; a grandson, Shawn Harkness of Demorest, Ga.; a great-grandson, Caleb Harkness of Demorest, Ga.; an aunt, Priscilla Shulman and family of Santa Monica, Calif.; and a nephew, Heath Neal of Newberry. Mrs. Wicker was born on May 31, 1919 in Leesville, a daughter of the late William and Mary Caughman Swygert. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was survived by her daughter-in-law, Kay C. Wicker of Newberry; grandchildren, Donna Wicker and Wendy and Chris White both of Newberry; great-grandchildren, Landon and Reagen White and Colton Wicker. Wright, B. Atlas 83, of Newberry, died May 23, 2012, at the Heritage at Lowman. Born in Anson County, N.C. on November 18, 1928, he was a son of the late Rubin A. and Angela Carpenter Wright. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Wright was a United States Navy veteran. Surviving was his wife of 62 years, Helen Thomas Wright, and a number of nieces and nephews. Drafted at the age of 19, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was married to Betty Lou Poston Yarborough of Lake City from 1951 until her death in 1968. He then married Rosemary Corbett Yarborough in 1970. She died in 2007. Surviving were his children, Michael Branan Yarborough (Janice), Linda Y. Love, Douglas Earle Yarborough, Robert Milton Yarborough, Scott Randall Yarborough, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Lynda L.
