St. Phillips was organized in 1887 by Rev. H. S. Wingard between Newberry and Pomaria and was dedicated the following year. The church became independant in 1948. It's third church building was constructed in 1962 but the parsonage was built in 1948. Virgil Cameron came to the mimistry from this church. The church supports a cemetery.
