Know All Men By These Presents, That The National Bank of Newberry, South
Carolina, for and in consideration of the sum of twenty-five hundred
dollars, to it in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of
these presents, by A. C. Thomason, of Newberry County, in the State of
South Carolina, the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged, have granted,
bargained, sold and released, and by these presents, do grant, bargain,
sell and release unto the said A. C. Thomason, -- All the tract or
plantation of land situate, lying and being in the County of Newberry in
the State of South Carolina, containing nine hundred acres, more or less,
bounded by Enoree River, and by lands of, or formerly of, the following
named person, viz: Wm. Wallace, Thos. W. Abrams, Estate of
J. E. Brown, C. K. Baker, -- said tract of land being more particularly
described by a plat thereof made by James F. Glenn, Surveyor, dated, 29th
and 30th of September 1897, and hereto attached: the same bing the land
described and embraced in two deeds of conveyance to said Bank, - one of
which was made by Carrie B. McCarley, Mollie B. McCarley and Matthew
McCarley on the tenth day of December 1895 and recorded in the office of
the Register of Mesne Conveyances for Newberry County, in said State, on
the twelfth day of April, 1894, and recorded in the office of the Register
of Mesne Conveyances for Newberry County, in said State, in Book #7, at
page 726, Record of Real Estate Conveyances. Together with all and
singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said
premises belonging, or in anywise incident or
appertaining. To have and to hold, all and singular the
said premises before mentioned unto the said A. C. Thomason, his heirs and
assigns foreever. It is understood and agreed by and
between the said parties that possission of said tract of land is not to
be given until the first day of January 1904 under this deed of
conveyance. And the said The National Bank of Newberry, South
Carolina, does hereby bind itself, its successors and assigns, to warrant
and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said A. C.
Thomasson, his heirs and assigns, against itself and its sucessors and
assignes and all persons lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any
part thereof. In witness whereof the said The National
Bank of Newberry, South Carolina, has caused its name to be subscribed to
These presents by Twenty-fith day of July, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and three the United States of
America.
