Committed to the jail of Richland as a runaway, a Negro man who calls his name John, and says he belongs to Thomas Eveleigh of Charleston, S. C. John is of a yellowish complexion, five feet six inches high, about thirty years of age. John says he was hired to William Richardson, on Santee.
