From early childhood Susie was a good, obedient child, liked by her playmates, and when she grew older and began school she was loved by teachers and schoolmates.
Why was she cut off so young? Our heavenly Father has need of the fairest, best and sweetest flowers in his garden, and hence he transplanted her to one not made by hands, eternal in the heavens, where there will be no tears, no sorrow and no night to eclipse the beauty and bliss there.
'Tis sad we know to look at her play toys and vacant chair, but we also realize the fact that He never makes mistakes and doeth all things well; therefore, dear parents, do not grieve for you lost darling, but think of her singing sweet anthems in Paradise, and be content with the good Master's deeds in taking a bright jewel from you.
The whole community extend there heart-sympathy to the parents.“How short the race our friend has run, Cut down in all her bloom; The course but yesterday begun, Now finished in the tomb. Why should our tears in sorrow flow, When God recalls his own. And bids them leave a world of woe. For an immortal crown? Their tolls are passed, their work is done, And they are fully blest; They fought the fight, the victory won, And entered into rest. Then let our sorrows cease to flow, God has recalled his own; But let our hearts in every woe. Still say, Thy will be done. Ye mourners, whose streaming tears Flow over your children dead, Say not in transports of despair, That all your hopes are dead.” May 4 - A FRIEND.
