Whitmire Methodist Church was organized in 1892 as a result from the transfer of many members of old Mt. Tabor and Ebenezer (Maybinton). It was the first church organized in Whitmire following its incorporation in 1891 and is now the second largest Methodist church in Newberry County with over 400 members.
