Erastus L. Perkins, a pioneer of Clark county, died at his home in Clark on Sunday, August 13, aged 64 years. He moved to Clark county in 1883, and had lived in or near Clark since.

Mary Hazel Arien Blanchette, the 10-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Blanchette of 309 South Dakota street, died at the family home yesterday afternoon, the result of a short but serious illness from pneumonia, a development of influenza.

Short funeral services were held privately at the Huebl undertaking parlors today and the body shipped to Clark, S. D., for internment.

Clark, July 26. James Thorson, 85 years old and a pioneer of three states, is dead at his home in Day township, near here, after an illness of some weeks. Born in Norway in 1830, Mr. Thoreson emigrated to America in 1852, locating at Decorah, Ia. Later he was an early settler in Freeborn county, Minnesota, and in 1881 was a pioneer of Clark county, where he lived until his death. He served through the civil war as a member of the First Minnesota. His wife died in 1903, but four sons and three daughters survive him.

Clark The body of Albert J. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Smith, of this city, who died in France during the world war was expected to reach here in time for funeral services to be held on Memorial day. Albert Smith was one of the four Clark county boys who made the supreme sacrifice during the war. He was a member of the 22nd engineers and died of illness in France.
