History:
Little Chief Cemetery is located on the east bank of Black Pipe Creek. Mr. Ring took us to a high bluff to point out the area where the cemetery was located. There was no sign of graves and the trail (????) leading to the site was very rough. Tradition says that Little Chief started the cemetery about 1892 and it is believed to have been abandoned by 1903.
Carl Johnson in his report says, "The appearance is poor, the graves are sunken, and there is no fence, it is never used and no attention is given to it. It is far in the hills and very hard to get there."
