JOHN M. BITTICK
, well known retired salesman, died at his home in Tullahoma Wednesday evening after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the family residence, Friday morning, conducted by Dr. J.W. Cherry, pastor of the Methodist church in Tullahoma. The remains were brought to Shelbyville and laid to rest in the family plot in Willow Mount Cemetery. Mr. Bittick and his family were former residents of Shelbyville and they have many friends here who sympathize with the family in their bereavement. Mr. Bittick was a member of the Methodist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estill Green Bittick; two daughters, Misses Pauline and Irene Bittick, and three sons, Douglas, Clarence and William Bittick.

AL BLANTON
, The death angel has visited our community again and claimed for its victim, Al Blanton on September 14, 1938. Funeral services were held at Bethlehem church of which he was a member at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev W. A. Sanders. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Laura Arnold, two sons, Eunice and Frank, eight grand daughters, a brother and sister, and hosts of other relatives. Burial was in New Bethel cemetery at Bedford.

FRANK BOBO
- 40, merchant and farmer of Pleasant Grove, fatally wounded himself in the left chest with a shotgun charge late Monday following an altercation in which John A. Stallings a tenant on Bobo's farm had wounded the merchant in the leg. Mr. Bobo died in an ambulance in route to Bedford County Hospital.
According to reports Bobo, a large land owner, went to the farm Stallings was renting from him at about 4:30 o'clock when an altercation was said to have taken place in which Stallings shot Bobo in the leg. The wounded man was said to have returned to his store and ordered several persons to leave the building. When the customers had vacated the building, he was said to have fired the shotgun into his chest.
The body was carried from the Thompson Funeral Home Tuesday morning to the home of Mrs. Tate, his mother in law, at Pleasant Grove, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. by Elder Gleaves. Interment was in Willow Mount Cemetery Besides his wife, the former Miss Eva Tate, survivals are one son Frank , Jr., who resides here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Mullins, one sister, Mrs. Grace Parker of Flat Creek, and a bother Tom Bobo.

HORACE J. BOBO
- Rev. Andy Largen of Fayetteville conducted the funeral of Horace J. Bobo Friday afternoon at New Hermon. Horace Bobo met a tragic death at his home Thursday afternoon. He went to put a horse in the barn and his mother seeing the horse loose, went to the barn to see about the little boy when she found the lifeless form lying in the doorway. It is thought the horse kicked the child. The news of his death cast a glom over the entire neighborhood. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mr. L.F. Bobo, three brothers and a sister.

JANE JENNET (POARCH) BRADFORD
, 88 wife of the late Nathaniel Bradford, died Tuesday morning, March 2, 1937 at the home of her son Dave Bradford. Mrs. Bradford had been ill a few days with double pneumonia. She was a devout member of the Baptist Church and had many friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, February 3, 1937 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Claude Lewis officiating. Interment was in Willow Mount Cemetery.
Surviving are three sons Dave, E. C., and Jim Bradford; one daughter, Mrs. Kate Sanders, of Diana; two brothers N.C. Poarch, and Thomas Poarch of Nashville; twelve grandchildren, Clarence, Raymond and Robert Bradford, David and Irene Bradford and Mrs. Jenette Nelson of Shelbyville; Buford Sanders of Old Hickory; William Sanders of Lewisburg; Paul Sanders, Mrs. Fred Tom Pyles, Mrs. Ernie Holly of Diana, and Mrs. Fred Cochran of Lewisburg; eleven great grandchildren.

FLORA LEE BRAGG
- Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Lee Bragg, who died Thursday at her home in the Horse Mountain community, were conducted Friday at the Horse Mountain Church, by Elder Clyde Gleaves. Burial was in Horse Mountain Cemetery. Mrs. Bragg, who had apparently been in good health, suffered a heart attack Thursday evening that resulted in her death. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville and a woman of many fine traits of character. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Basco Edwards; and five sons, Sam, Clarence, Edward, Lonnie and Donnely Bragg, all of Shelbyville.

J.L. BRAGG
- Funeral services for J. L. Bragg, 66, who died suddenly at his home here Tuesday a.m. at 10:30 o'clock were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at a funeral home in Murfreesboro. Rev. E. J. Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro. Mr. Bragg was a salesman for the Murfreesboro Marble and Granite Works. Before moving to Shelbyville three years ago he resided in Murfreesboro and was a manager of the Marble Works. He was a native of Cannon County. He had been in declining health for several years. Surviving besides his widow, are one daughter, Mrs. Bill Stanton, Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, W. J. Bragg of Woodbury and R. B. Bragg of Christiana, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Harris, Kittrell, Mrs. Ervin Ready, Milton, and Mrs. C. L. McNabb, Deason.

NEELEY BROWDER
son of Mr and Mrs. Cecil Neeley, died at 2:25 P.M. Thursday at the local hospital, follwing injuries sustained at 12:45 P.M. Wednesday, when a motorcycle hge was riding crashed into a brick
column at the Pan-Am Service Station on Depot Street. With the expectation of buying the machine, he was learning to drive it, when he lost control over it.
He sustained a fractured skull form the impact and never regained consciousness,. Young Neeley graduated form Central High School this year. He played center on the school football team and was a member of the
school band and of Company I, Tennessee State Guard. Surviving besides his parents, are one brother, Wilmot; grandmother, Mrs.
W.T. Neeley of Shelbyville; maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs. M.B. Walker of Fairfield. Rev. N.B. Tucker conduction. Burial was in Willow Mount Cemetery.

BETTIE (PHILLIPS) BROWN
died Friday afternoon at her home on the Stephens road, 4 miles from Shelbyville. Mrs Brown was ill only a short time, and her death was a shock to the neighborhood. Funeral services were held at the El Bethel Baptist church, of which she was a devoted member. Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. C. Creasman, pastor of the First Baptist church of Shelbyville. The remains were laid to rest in the Brown graveyard. Mrs Brown is survived by one son Roy Brown, three brothers Joe Phillips of West Tennessee, John Phillips of Mississippi, Sam Phillips, Shelbyville; three sisters, Miss Doan Phillips and Mrs. Kate Nancy, California, and Mrs. Meek Adams of Shelbyville.

GLEN THOMAS BROWN
- Funeral services for Glen Thomas Brown of Shelbyville were held 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Randell Jernigan officiating. Burial was to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Brown, 91, died Friday at Bedford County Genral Hospital . A native of Franklin County, he was a retired farmer and member of Fairlane Church of Christ. He was the son of the late James Robert and Docia Dance Brown. He is survived by his wife, Rose Monette Brown

MAI (JENKINS) BROWN
, a well known citizen of the Haley community, died at her home last Wednesday. Mrs. Brown was Miss Mai Jenkins prior to her marriage and was a member of a prominent Bedford county family. She is survived by her husband, W. J. Brown, two children, Miss Elizabeth Brown and Maurice Brown of Haley; a brother Oscar Jenkins of San Antonia, Texas. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Haley, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Chas. Armstrong was in charge of the service. Mrs. Brown was well known here and held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends.

ROSE (MONETTE) BROWN
- Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Monette Brown, 90, of Shelbyville, who died Tuesday at Bedford County Geneal Hospital after an extended illness, will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Randell Jernigan will officate and burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorail Gardens. A native of Bedford County, she was the wife of the late Glen Thomas Brown, who died in 1996, and the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson "Jack" Monette and Martha "Matt" HART Monette. She was a retired teacher with 43 years of experience in the Bedford County school system. She was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State university, a member of Bedford County Retired Teachers Association and of Fairlane Church of Christ. Survivors include four nephews, William C. HART of Fresno, Calif.; Jack Monette of California; Robert McGehee of Virginia and Harry Monette of Arkansas.
