MRS. E.W. WADDY - Funeral services for Mrs. E. W. Waddy, 77 who died Monday at 1 A.M., were held Tuesday morning at 10:30, at the Hoover Funeral Home, Rev. J. W. Roberts officiating Burial was in Palmetto Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and was loved by a large circle of friends and relatives. She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Sam Moore and Mr. Moore. Other surviving are another daughter, and a son Jack Waddy.

MACK G. WATSON - Funeral services for Mack G. Watson, 91, Civil war veteran who served in Forrest's cavalry were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his niece, Mrs. Birdie Pearcy, in the Nashville, conducted by the Rev. A.S. Allen. Mr. Watson died Wednesday morning at the home of his niece following a heart attack. Mr. Watson was born in Shelbyville in 1840. At the outbreak of the Civil war he and his brother joined with Nathan Bedford Forrest when he formed his famous cavalry. Mr. Watson rode as escort to General Forrest, and his brother, William Watson, who died in 1893, served as bugler for the troop. After the war, Mr. Watson moved to Nashville. He was employed by the old Prewitt-Spurr Furniture Manufacturing company in East Nashville. He never married. He is survived by the following nieces and nephews; Mrs. Thomas Shute, Mrs. Birdie Pearcy and H. H. Watson, all of Nashville; Mrs. W. L. Haynes and Charles and Wiley Chockley of Shelbyville, and Clarence Watson of Houston, Texas. Burial was at Mt. Olivet cemetery. (cemetery is in Nashville)

MARTHA ANN (SUDBERRY) WHEELHOUSE , 89, died Thursday at her home near Center Grove. She had been in declining health for some time. Mrs. Wheelhouse was a member of the Blankenship Methodist Church, a consecrated Christian, true friend, loving and dutiful mother. Funeral services were held at the home Friday, 2 p.m. Rev C.F. Belew officiating. Burial was in the Blankenship cemetery. Survivors are two daughters, Misses Cassie and Ida Wheelhouse, one sister, Mrs. Tennie Wallace, Waco Texas.

EFFIE MAE WILKERSON 1935 - 2001 - Funeral services of Effie Mae Wilkerson, 66 of Sewanee, who died Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Shaw Temple Church of God in Tullahoma. Superintendent George Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in University Cemetery in Sewanee. Survivors include four sons, Sammy Wilkerson of Sewanee, Kenneth Lee Wilkerson of Decherd, James Robert Wilkerson of Tullahoma, and Gary Jerome Wilkerson of Sewanee; four sisters, Margaret White of Tullahoma, Juanita Anthony of Tullahoma, Mildred Thompson of Shelbyville and Josephine Williams of Detroit, Mich: four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be noon Sunday until service time at the church. J. A. Welton & Son Funeral Home, Tullahoma, is in charge of arrangements.

JAMES RAY WILKERSON 1927 - 2002 - Funeral services for James Ray Wilkerson, 75 of Shelbyville, who died Wednesday at his home after an extended illness, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Rev Randall Harmon and Steve Lynn will officiate and burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. A native of Stevenson, Ala., he was the husband of Jennifer Lyles Wilkerson of Shelbyville, who survives, and the son of the late Joseph Wheeler and Willie Mae Hoosier Wilkerson. He was a retired employee of Empire Pencil Co. (now Sanford Corp.); a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He attended Eastview Baptist Chruch. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Mike Wilkerson of Christmas, Fla., and David Wilkerson of Birmingham, Ala; a daughter Judy Lynn of Tullahoma; two stepdaughters, Christine Diaz of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Stephanie Bingham of Nashville; a sister Jewell Privett of Stevenson Ala; a brother, Glen Wilkerson of Stevenson, Ala; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.

IKE WILLIAMS , 86 died Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ott Gilliland at New Hermon. Mr. Williams had been an invalid for several years. He was a highly respected citizen of the New Hermon community. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Hermon Church, Rev. Ralph Snell conducting. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Gilliland, three grand daughters, Miss Frances Gilliland and Mrs. Bill Kingree of New Hermon and Mrs. Walter Haynes of Shelbyville.

W.I. WINN , 77, died Tuesday morning at his home here of a paralytic stroke, suffered two days earlier. He had been in declining health several years. Besides serving as a city policeman, he had also been a deputy sheriff of Bedford County and a constable of the Seventh District. After he retired from public service he spent much of his time constructing hand made doll furniture, some of it copied from authentic antiques and much of it hand carved. Winn was born and educated in Bedford County and spent almost his entire life here. He was the son of J.W. Winn and Isabella Martin Winn. Pending the arrival from New York of Members of his family, the funeral arrangements are not complete as this newspaper goes to press. Rev. N. Burch Tucker will officiate at the Hoover Funeral Home and active pallbearers will be Matthew Shearin, Levoy Mullins, R.A. Taylor, Ed Nance, Fred Nance and Guy Hoover; honorary pall bearers will be Ed Maupin, H.B. Cowan, Dr. T.R. Ray, Eugene Hix, C.P. Adams, H.H. Jones, and Will R. Haynes. Burial will be in Willow Mount Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, six sons, John B. Winn, Beechfort N.Y. Horace, Syracuse, N.Y., Robert, Dallas, Texas, Homer, Chattanooga, Elgin, Shelbyville and Ollie, unknown. He has three sisters surviving, Mrs. Isadore Primrose in California; Mrs. Fannie Ezell, Chapel Hill, and Mrs. Mary Maupin, Rover. WILLIAM W. WILLIAMS , a well known and highly respected farmer, died at his home near Bell Buckle last Tuesday. He had been in Poor health for some time and was carried to Vanderbilt hospital, where he remained for a while. Mr. Williams was 51 years of age, and a man of sterling principles. He was a devoted member of the Christian church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Clyde Gleaves last Thursday. Interment was in the Bell Buckle cemetery. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Reed Rucker of Nashville' Mrs. Curtis Cook of Nashville; Mrs. William Thurston of Murfreesboro; Alfred Anderson, Mable, Ruth, and Virginia Williams.

JESSE GLEAVES WOODWARD - Funeral services for Jessee Gleaves Woodward, 88, of Palmetto, who died Wednesday at Bedford County General Hospital, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at London Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial will follow in Temple Cemetery.

A Bedford County native, he was the husband of Louise Lehman Woodward and the son of the late George Robert and Rebecca Palmer Woodward. He was a farmer and a member of Farmington Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife includes a son, James Hubert Woodward of Palmetto; three daughters, Mary W. Horton and Dorothy W. Looney, both of Palmetto, and Ann W. Winnette of Murfreesboro; a sister, Rebecca Ellen Herron of Antioch; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.

J. J. WORFORD - The friends of Mrs. Bailey Evans, of Fort Worth Texas, will be sorry to learn of the death of her father, Mrs J. J. Morford, of McMinnville, who passed away at his home, Monday at noon. Mr and Mrs Evans reached McMinnville Monday night. The funeral services were today, Wednesday, at 4:30 o'clock, at the residence, conducted by Rev. L. T. Lawrence, pastor of the Lane street Presbyterian church. The burial was in the Riverside cemetery. Mr. Morford was one of McMinnville's leading citizens. He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Mrs. B. P. Evans, a sister, Mrs. David B. Carson and a brother, Charles Moford.
