DRYDEN FAMILY

William Dryden, the son of Jonathan N. and Hannah (Duff) Dryden, was born 18 April 1795 in Washington Co VA. He married Abigail Caldwell Henderson 14 March 1816 in Bedford County TN. Abigail was born 12 December 1793 in NC. Most of the children were born in Bedford County but by 1831 they had moved to Coles County IL where the last 3 children were born.

Military Information

They died in Coles County IL and are buried at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. Abby died 7 October 1854 and William followed 16 Jun 1877.

By most accounts they had 11 children.

3 Henderson Nathaniel born 12 Feb 1820 in Shelbyville, Bedford m Martha Jane Kincade Balch in August 1842. Children were: William Theron, John Alexander, Jonathan Albert, Alpha Elizabeth, Martha Abigail, and Nathaniel Hezekiah Dryden.

8 Cyntha Clarinda 7 Jul 1830 Bedford died 16 December 1901 and buried at Neoga Cemetery, Cumberland County IL. She married Dr. George Wesley Albin 10 January 1854. George born 17 Dec 1822 - Died 1 October 1990. They had 5 children - Mary C., Oscar W.C., May, William C.W. and an infant who died at birth.
